I stopped watching Barum engines, every week there seemed to be some new drama around warranties or a customer trying to scam them, it felt like drama farming so I tuned out.
He's just showing the full aspect of engine machining. The good and the bad. Once you've seen an engine being worked on you've seen them all. Trouble is he ain't got the gear! Have you seen their 1935-40 boring machine! Even Lee calls it a Heath Robinson set up lol Their machining practices are a fucking nightmare and now they have an apprentice, in the shape of Isaac, lad has quite a bit of talent for the job, but he's being taught some shitty practices. Like l when facing a flywheel, not using the reverse jaws and using normal ones and having six miles of the jaw hanging out of the chuck to get the flywheel in. Serious accident waiting to happen there. And that's just one example. If he were to go elsewhere to work in a modern workshop he would be called out because he's not been taught correctly. Fortunately he does go to college one day a weeks so at least he will learn some safety practices there.
Finally someone who knows what they are doing! Barum do not appear to be engineers, and an admission that one cannot operate a machine tool is telling.
It doesn’t take many views of barumm engine’s vids to realise it’s the last place I would ever send an engine to have work on an I never watch them anymore
100% agree, I would not send an engine anywhere near Barum as anything he touches tends to have quality problems that ends up with endless customer complaints and court cases / letters etc. His video's do absolutely nothing to give confidence in his business.

A couple of things. The video title "calling out Lee from Barum" really is awful clickbait, change it if you can. Also, why didn't you freeze the sleeves before fitting them? The hydraulic press you used was basically hammering the sleeves in and "shocking" the block. A high enough constant pressure on the press to smoothly slide the sleeves home is surely better. Good to see some machining, it reminds me of the first 10-12 years of my working life as a apprentice then toolmaker until I moved to design and the drawing board (yep that was in the days before CAD!!)
I'm neither a mechanic or an engineer so excuse my ignorance but would freezing the sleeves not make them brittle? Direct sunlight on a summers day might heat the block enough to widen the bore sufficiently to slide the sleeves in easier.
Nice to see just the engineering rather than bios or business. If Barnum did the same it would be better for the viewer and their business? Seems to have set themselves out to be an easy touch for free work by accepting iffy warrnty claims IMHO.
I got to barum channel by chance after watching a engine build. What us the point of that channel, it's only about issues or problems. It must not do his rep any good. Even if the issue was not his direct fault. Shiw how you build engines, not constant talk about problems

Just found your channel and subscribed. I ditched Barum engines a fair while ago now, I think it was after the video that Lee posted where he was out in his Lamborghini and said that he was a shy sort of guy who didn't really like attention. Barum is an annoying, click-bait ridden channel which is 10% about engines and engineering and 90% about supposed drama relating to awkward customers and Lee trying to convince everyone of how good he is.
