Good morning friend, first I want to thank you because you have helped me with your advice. Since you are a professional person and I have that same camera, I have a question again since I bought a Viltrox micro four-thirds focal reducer from Nikon and a few days ago I got a Tamron lens. 10-24 mm when placing the lens keeping the shutter angle at 180 degrees the lowest ISO outdoors everything is over exposed nothing is seen in the camera how could I solve that and I have lowered the shutter angle to the lowest and still This is how the burnt image is maintained where the sun's rays hit and in the sky, how could I solve that to be able to use that lens. I would really appreciate it if you could help me please
You need an ND filter for the front of the lens. Get a variable so you can adjust exposure up and down www.parkcameras.com/shop/hama-67mm-variable-nd-filter_9334746d
Hello Gareth, awesome video! im looking into getting these leica lenses for my bmcc 2.5k too and I was wondering if you are using them with an EF mount or MFT bmcc? I have the MFT version and just want to make sure these will be compatible with it with the speedbooster. Thanks!
Yes the Leicas are now EF mount, which fit onto the EF to MFT speedbooster. I use this exact setup for my BMCC 2.5k Keeping the Leicas EF mount also means I can use them on a range of other cameras.
@@GRTHK Hi Gareth, about to purchase the simmod kit for my Leica R’s and I was if I also need to get the simmount shims to use with bmcc or not? Thanks!
@@atlasofambience I use a Metabones Speedbooster (EF > MFT) on my BMCC and the Leicas work 100% fine. Infinity focus etc. Can't speak for the EF mount BMCC. I didn't need the shims. Good luck!
If you Google the lens model you can find the specs for filter size. For focus ring, literally measure around the body with a piece of string (or tape measure)
Hello Gareth, stumble upon your channel looking to modding my Leica R. Do you have any problem with focus at infinity with the EF mount ? I use cheap R to EF adapter from Gobe, and they a bit to thick so you don't get infinity focus, I needed to shimmed down to have this fix...
Beautiful work!
Thanks guys! 🙌
The day has arrived! 🙌🏻 Super jealous of your set. They look great!
Danke! I'd be very interested to pair them with the Amira one day. Shoot out vs the Zeiss glass! 🤔
@@GRTHK Definitely up for it man! I wanna see whats the magic for myself 🧐
@@YannickGalaske My guess is most lenses look great on that legendary Arri sensor 🔥

Did you use the soldering iron directions to or just go directly to screwing The mount to the lens?

How do you find the correct filter size and focus ring size for the leica R's - building a set now but want to make sure i order the correct mods

Hi, infinity focus is 100% ok. The Simmod mount is designed so that the rear element is in the exact same position as before. No problems at all 🤘
I bought a BMCC for 100€... so true
