Fontaine had verbally trashed arch-rival Justin LaBar during LaBar's exit from PWO Wrestling a month prior. Fontaine then went on to defeat PWO Champion Jason Bane via count-out to earn an automatic championship rematch under Lumberjack rules. Furthermore, Marion's business adviser Aaron Maguire had bought off half of the lumberjacks at ringside!
