Up until now, we didn't really know how to make a song fade out more than 10 seconds, and 10 seconds is really too short to sound "right". There's no certain amount of time, but on this song the fade out is 14 seconds, and for some reason that extra 4 seconds takes it from a rapid, weird fade to a fade that sounds "right".

Sometimes you don't get a song but that song gets you and that is one of the most beautiful things about music. This has that perfect blend of angst and brightness with a catchy hook. Perfect as always, and that 4 seconds made so much difference, went from brilliance to genius. 😁

Thank you, I'm really happy with this one.
Learning how to do the fade also helps in editing overall, we were cutting and splicing for every volume change, etc, which left a lot more room to mess things up.
But most important, the short fades just didn't sound right. :)
