  • Here is my first HOW-TO-SUP Video!! For Episode 026, we will be going through the basics and details of how to drop in LATE on your stand up paddle board in the surf! I hope this video gives you some new insight and helps you bring your SUP game to the next level. I had a lot of fun making this video, so I will definitely be making more HOW-TO-SUP episodes in the future. Please drop a comment, let me know of any moves and techniques you want to see more of, and I will try to design an Episode around that. I know dropping in late is extremely technical, but these tricks and my 4 points of focus are great for everyone to go over and will always help you improve dropping into any type of wave! Thank you everyone for the support! YEWWWW

    For anybody who might be thinking about learning or wants some solid coaching to develop their form, this is your guy. I spent my 1st day surfing on my own and caught 1 wave. The next day I had Anthony come coach me and caught 30. We ended doing 6 sessions and I’ve never spent better money. Also, he’s just a helluva lot of fun to surf with. Thanks again coach. Your stoke is unreal. I’ll be out for my first sesh of the season tomorrow and I can’t wait.

    Fantastic lesson here. All too often when I am dropping in late, I don’t commit and just fall off the back of my board. After watching this, I will now make it a point to try and drop in on white water, commit to it, and make the wave. Thanks for making this video.

    Good stuff, i surf a slightly bigger SUP and dropping in late can be sketchy due to not wanting to pearl. The part about commuting 100 percent is spot on. Even if you eat it you didnt miss the wave entirely.

    Super helpful, I have blown many waves trying to paddle in on my heel side vs toe side. It's wobbly and unstable and can result in some gnarly wipeouts on bigger steeper waves. I will put this into practice....

There are not a lot of videos that show the transition between waves ie. pulling off a wave and paddling back out fast to catch another wave or after completing a wave and how to deal with the inside, making the decision whether to get to your feet, prone paddle or wait for a lull etc.
    Cheers pal

    Awesome video, so you always keep your right foot near the rail you want to turn? I mean on the backside I saw you put it a few inches near the rail not the center... Trying to learn backside, I just move to another place were the only spot to surf is backside (I'm regular...feeling the struggle)

    • @Twonicles
      @Twonicles  4 роки тому +1

      When actually surfing...
      Frontside I am always trying to keep my feet centered.
      Backside I will tend to open up back foot more and get it more inside for bottom turning leverage, but in reviewing footage I may try to get more centered and improve backside bottom turn with paddle switch.

      What's up Tim! Appreciate the message! What seems to be the biggest challenge keeping the paddle on your toe side? When I prone paddle on my stomach and then pop up to semi surf stance, it feels the most natural to have the paddle on toe side, less reaching.

    How to drop in late? First, have a short board that allows you to do so.
