The buttons could be on the side of the helmet, it's actually how it's designed (greetings from Mexico)
Mando also has a controller on his arm that works for the superzoom and infrared vision
Man arrested for vandalizing neighborhood with images of baby yoda and strapping a night vision camera to a homemade prototype military helmet
What's really cool is the lens that shows the footprints and broken branches aren't actually thermal. It's a different technology that uses AI to highlight recent changes and movements and is something equipped to some military drones.
@@lapaba1236 So I'm not an expert on how it works, but it's hyperspectral imaging. The idea is that it uses a wider range of the electromagnetic spectrum to see more information overlayed on our limited vision. So for the example of the mandolorian's tracking visor, when they were walking or running, odds are they displaced and moved dirt out of the way. And in a place such as we see in the episode, odds are the footsteps would have different materials and would react to some form of light differently. The broken branches also cloud up in the episode, likely an attention to detail if it's looking for the smell of it.
6:19 a good tip if you ever want to remake it PVA foam is what most cosplayers use that reinforced with PVC and covered in either metallic paint or lightly sanded foil will give it a good solid look and the "antenna" most Mandalorian helmets have is actually a display screen so that could help with the IR camera placement as well
add super hearing my dude, make it the ultimate smart helmet.
There are already headsets that improve your hearing and cut out loud sounds (gunshots mainly), but it might make the helmet look bulky/weird
Wow who honestly are the 4 people who disliked this genius. Might be jawas or the other bounty hunters
@@2.5rs_subaru Jawas + that bunch of Mando´s former coworkers who are currently in prison and they are bored, so they watch UA-cam all the time.

Elon Musk: “WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN!”
i'd say his transitions are getting better but they were already perfect
Mandalorians canonically have stuff like that just mounted on the sides of their helmets. In episode two he mounted a flashlight on the right side of his helmet.
The fetts had theres mounted on a pole on the side of the helmet that went over the one eye like a scope.
I think im not the lore guy.
@@liquidsleepgames3661 Yes, Jango and Boba's helmet had a side mounted range finder that a lot of people mistook for some kind of antennae (for a radio or something) since we never saw Boba use it, and Jango only used it once or twice.
But also, if you wanna get REALLY technical; Jango and Boba aren't Mando; they're copycats who adopted the Fett name, presumably to increase their bounty hunter reps.
There's a detailed theory about the dents and scratches in Boba's armor pointing to it being made of Durasteel (fantasy alloy from the Star Wars universe), and not actual Beskar. (for shits and giggles; Stormtrooper 'plastic' looking armor is made of Plasteel, also a made up alloy in the Star Wars universe)
@@nephicus339 thanks for the lore however i knew most of that. I just assumed he could repurpose what the thing was by putting the lenses in it wire wires down the arm of it make the helm a little bit bigger and stuff parts around the shell of the helmet making it easier to wear and still make a cool helm
Jamie M They're not Mando according to Disney canon. According to Legends, however, Jango was adopted into the True Mandalorians by Jaster Mereel, which were wiped out by the Jedi. He'll always be a Mando in my eyes.
@@nephicus339 even real Mandalorians used durasteel, those who couldn't afford or source Beskar... in legands at least. Beskar being exceedingly rare.

Mandalorians typically have a scouter attachment for their helmets which have the long-range and augmented displays built into them, rather than it all being contained in the helmet itself. You could have made it easier on yourself and had a more authentic mando look if you did that.
I rewatched the magnification and he has his rifle up every time he gets the magnified view. I believe the scope on the rifle is linked to the visor and sending data for the magnification. He sees it in his helmet display, but needs to point his rifle at what he wants to enlarge. --- also. Awesome video and I happen to have the exact night vision scope you used.
Also, Boba Fett's antenna isn't one, it's a range finder with a screen, in other words a HUD on a stick to put it away when he doesn't need it.

Boba Fett: now you remember me right?
Hey Jay, this is awesome. Can I make a suggestion though? How about you 3D print the entire mask, spray paint it with metallic chrome, sand it, and repeat that process 3 or 4 more times. It'll make it look a lot more clean. You can also use Immersion goggles (Occulus Rift goggles, or similar), to house the field of view from your glasses AND the scope, and extend the cables from the AR Glasses to a control panel in a metallic arm bracer like Mando has. That way you can control the
Hey I had planed to build this on my channel!! I guess I’ll stick to my taser roomba
the night vision even looks like it does in the show, im definitely looking forward to a part 2
I love how he gets defensive before we even have a chance to criticize the camera quality at night
You should make a wand from Harry Potter that can mimic some spells like making light and stuff like that.
"I was wrong. It was hard." Best line ever

that gold play button looks so nice! (dream mode on.... *one day.. maybe one day....* dream mode off)
By far the coolest mando helmet in existence
Great build! I like the battle scarred look. Keep going with this
I like the lighting when you are showing the light on the helmet
This is the way!
The fuzziness adds to the Star Wars aesthetic. I honestly thought you added that in post until you said it was a hardware failure, because it looks quite similar to what you see whenever you get to see from the POV of anyone using binoculars in Star Wars.
If he can do this, it makes me wonder how cool it would be to have a more "functional" helm.
Something built more professionally. I would buy one. Hands down. Just need to invent Beskar first lol
You should make the wrist flamethrower and the grappling hook too
2:09 in some of the books, Fett had a ground penetrating hyperspecyral radar thing in his buy'ce. Might be something like that.
Also, you should totally try to make a booster jet pack. I'm talking ten feet of jump here. :p
@@CitrusPeach1 he was at that point, but that's irrelevant to the subject at hand.
Richard Dizney no dude he was a clone and Jango Fett wasn’t Mandalorian either they just jacked the armor
111 222 At the time that Richard Dizney is referring to, Jango Fett was a mandalorian, which was later retconned when Disney de canonized all of the Star Wars legends. Yes, Boba was a clone, but Jango was a leading Mandalorian warrior, after the time of pacifism for there people ended
Mandalorian stuff is sick
I'm impressed by your creativity yet baffled by your process. It looks like you're underutilizing your 3D printer.
Make a dares and helmet that gives you super hearing and a pair of his sticks that can turn in to many things (cane, grappling hook, small blades, etc)
Hearing would be doable, just attach some microphones to the inside of the helmet and have the audio be played back to you louder, and the pair of sticks would most likely not be doable at home.
"Building your ideas" goosebumps man, goosebumps.
Spiderman mask with moving eyes

@@loop5720 yes I have heard ,but I want to make my own spiderman mask with moving eyes
honestly that is pretty rad. with a little more metal working skills or conceding to a more easily worked material, im thinking about making a fiberglass suit, might turn out more "show ready" but no joke this is cool. next throw in some sound amplifiers and a motion detector around back.
Can you make a heads up display for swaggersouls helmet
Please make more of the Mandalorian!!! Awesome job
He's gonna turn a killer droid in a nurse droid
Oh wait a sec...
You know what... aesthetics are over rated. It works, and I’m satisfied.
Hey, Can you maybe elaborate on how you did the HUD? It seems like you "remade" the way, that the Vuzix do it too. I really want to make my own HUD Helmet thingy, but I don't have the money to get the Vuzix. A quick reply to this comment would really help me figure out a good way, to create a budget HUD :)
Cheers & keep it up! :)
this guy is like a better hacksmith with more entertaining videos
I thought this was your best looking looking project.
You do so many more videos than the hack-smith, great job!
this sound interesting
Plz make a sonic screwdriver from Dr Who with a laser or something like that. Always Love your videos, keep it up👍🏼
Can’t wait till you build an iron man suit
Jacob Jeffreys at some point he’s going to get hired by Musk or someone and he’s actually going to build it.
It probably would happen ngl I have actullay seen people make a working one that can fly the only difference between the real one is that it doesn't have the fancy helmet tech ( I am not a boomer I have just been into star wars to remember what is it called...)
Wow I could never imagine that this could be made for real. Just imagine a bike helmet with night vision. Some high end cars have this infrared (?) camera that lets you see even in mist. Maybe put that in an helmet?
Please make a hologram green lantern ring
This is so dope! Just imagine if it was all metal?! So sick. To make it more accurate u should’ve added a HUD to see behind yourself
Bruh. Just make an entire functional suit of Manadalorian armor at this point lol.
The helmet material in the show is unbreakable.
Not true. You can break/melt it, it just requires an absurd amount of heat+time or force.
Please make the more mandalorian things like his gauntlets
Super cool. I’d like to see a v2 and a gauntlet flamethrower and grappling hook and maybe the “songbirds”.
First and formost excellent work. To get the helmet full metal, it’s tons of sanding (like a week using a different grit every day), then paint. You will have it I’m sure if you give it that much grind. Peace!
Could you make Edward elric’s metal arm ?
This guy will be the best at Halloween
You can see the signs so well because they're designed to reflect light parallel to it's source.
make a hammer just like Thor's but its on fire and when you throw it it explodes.
Bro, that pin middle thingy of mando’s sounds like a good project
Spoiler: he just uses smart glasses under a hand made helmet.
Its kind of disappointing.
Uhhh. Mate you realize the military has been trying to make a helmet with the same features as many sci-fi helmets. Now obviously if military money can't make it happen in 15+ years a guy on UA-cam a guy on UA-cam can't make the tech in a year.
I liked it and how the lines were going it looked super close to the mandos
Tony Stark was actually a mandalorian.

Should've just stuck to eva foam for the helmet and styrene plastic. This Would have been way easier to work with brother for sure. Anyways still looks great and love the effort you put fourth to this project. Overall a fantastic job! And the battle damage at the top of the helmet could be called, a happy accident in the world of prop making
I love how you always find a way to solve a problem. I never would of thought that a legit mando helmet could be a thing. You inspired to create my own UA-cam channel. Now I know it is nothing compared to yours but I would like you to check it out and give me some tips. I actually made a mando wrist rocket launcher
Now that is a first!stuff that actually functions.great stuff.i myself built robots and artificial limbs down the way and recently a three feet long preying mantis with functional foreclaws.but I've always had similar stuff like the night vision before but to use this in a movie prop is awesome.keep up on the good work man!
What was the cost on that project. This is totally wicked. One of the coolest UA-cam videos ever
Would you consider doing a full mandalorian suit with every gadget 😂That'll be awesome
This is awesome but you should make a full mandolorian suit with almost all of it working!
Banger after banger, my dude. Keep up the great work!
You could have made the inside like a screen for you to see out of that way you could put a camera system switch into different modes like nightvision or thermal. The top section that comes off could house the camera and then put like a baseplate on the bottom to close it off attach it to the rest of the helmet and use like an adjusting headband off a welders helmet or something. But great work man Im really lovin these videos 👍
Amazing
