    As a complete noob to fpv that has the QX65 I can say it's awesome for learning to fly indoors. I've crashed so much even dunked it in a pool in my maiden fpv outdoor flight. It's survived it all. Great value drone. 🤓

    I agree that for a newbie, like I was just 11 months ago, starting with the brushed is a good idea. Also, durability is super important when crashing lots. I flew an E011 LOS to start, then added a camera for FPV. Burned out my first motor after 9 months but the replacement was cheap and easy. I recently got a Mobula7 after flying my ET115 outside and both are good for me now. I'm sure I could not have handled the power at the beginning! I do have a friend with the QX65 and he often has to fix the camera after a crash because the canopy doesn't hold it so great. Lots of glue in there to try and make it stay. My other friend with a US65 is definitely frustrated with the frame that seems to be made of potato chips! He replaced it with the URUAV frame, but that canopy also has trouble holding the camera.

    I have the Qx65 and still like it. It is quite precise as you said. I also threw on some high-end brushed motors and the thing is quite fast. I do with it had turtle mode but otherwise, I love it. I also have the snapper 7 and a custom 1S build and still gravitate to the QX65 when I want to hit some gaps inside. Thanks for the review, sir.

    Purchased the QX65, although I am kinda advanced in piloting..
    But I prefer the durability and don't really see a must have in brushless for indoors. :-)

    The brushed version will cost less initially but by the time you have replaced the motor's a couple of times it just cost you more ! Just adjust your speed with less of a camera angle.

    These micro quads are insane! I got a Mobula 7 and it's opened a whole new world of fpv to me around the house and yard. Great performance and tiny size that nobody will "freak out" about.

    1S is plenty for the typical home. My Snapper 7 does just fine as a brushless, even has plenty for calm days outside. Some may wish to put a bit of expo though to calm it down if needed. I do still enjoy one of my brushed 65's though too for strictly inside flying. Thanks Justin, Jeff

    Drone Camps RC, Good review! I had ordered a US65, but after seeing so many reviews of the frame breaking so easily I just canceled the order since it had not shipped yet. That cool frame artwork was a big reason I ordered it to begin with, too bad they put such a bad frame on it. I will stick with my Mobula7 and older brushed Whoops.

    I've been flying my brushed whoop with 716 motors on the gnb 450mah HV batteries, and you might think the battery is too heavy, but to my surprise it actually flies better and has more power, not to mention flight times of 5+ mins! I've never had so much fun with my brushed whoop! try the 450 high volt batteries in your brushed whoop, just elastic band them onto the bottom if you need to and let 'er rip and tell me your mind isnt blown! 🤯

    Nice review. Been flying diy brushed E011's and 75mm with 820 motors here in rainy PDX. I just got my US65 and it already came with 2 sets of 4-blade props, crooked camera mount, and those struts under the battery were already broken. I ordered a UR65 replacement frame since I hear it's more flexible/durable. Even in stock tune, I'm lovin my first brushless whoop. I decided not to go for the 2S M7 or Trashcan because I'm primarily an indoor flyer in a small house. Besides the new frame, I need more batteries!

    I had brushed whoops with 6mm, 7mm and 8.5mm motors. 6mm and 7mm motors burnt too quickly, but 8.5 mm motors are great. After started flying brushles whoops I don't think I will fly brushed ones again, my SE0603 brushless motors are doing great. Next is to have a 2S whoop with SE0802 motors ;)

    My brushed whoop (Furibee F 36 with AIO FPV cam glued on top) was fun, but I was constantly soldering new motors onto the board. It finally got to where it wouldn't bind to the toy grade transmitter. My UR65 is light years better. My only issue is a smoked esc in the board that Banggood replaced for free. The flights are longer, it flies more stable, and you don't have to change motors after 25 flights.

    I've been flying brushed 716 motor whoops for close to a year now and while its plenty fun, I find myself not wanting to practice around the house regularly (even tho I need the practice) in fear of wearing/burning out the motors too quickly. As a result, I only fly when I go someplace cool, but then I'm both rusty in my piloting skills and still constantly wondering if my motors are performing at full potential. I think I'm ready to upgrade to brushless.

  • @sebastiansombra
    @sebastiansombra 6 років тому

    Very good and interesting comparison!
    Other option would be to add an expo curve to the brushless version (in betaflight or in the transmitter) to soften the throttle at the hovering level making it more easy to fly. I am sure that any beginner will eventually want to change the brushed version once he gains experience and will end buying two (false economy). In my opinion the brushless version is better in many ways, not only the motors (charger, smart audio, durability of the motors) and when you buy the QX version with more batteries the price difference is not even that much.

  • @Grumpyoldtwit
    @Grumpyoldtwit 4 роки тому

    I wonder if the QX65 could handle a 2S battery?
    I didn't like flying indoors. All the walls seem much closer together when you've got fpv goggles on.
    So I've given up flying indoors and put my QX flight controller into my Syma X5C.

    How many brushed motors have you had to replace? How many brushless? For me, very few brushless have needed replacing (relative to actual flight time). Most of my brushed seem to last about 10-20 flights before they need replacing. I think I'll stick to my shiny new brushless setups. I'm sure that most of the precision difference can be compensated for with more expo.

      one more thing - it is worth to order spare motors for UX...
      what i found "bad" on it - FC is mounted on rubber spacers, yet - plugging usb makes FC to off from back one - and that makes sensor to be misaligned - flying in horizon or angle mode is hard then.
      I had to put heat shrinks on motor mounts - props were pulling motors out of them :)
      After few crashes, camera is loose and can damage FC - i've put electric tape on bottom of camera - to prevent short circuit on FC
      Camera angle - a bit too low - wires below it does not let it tilt more, also makes camera to tilt horizontally - thin double sided tape helps with that
      pros - everything else - small, fits in pocket (once i've left it at home - i was thinking i have it in my pocket ;) ), betaflight - it is possible to put BF4 in it (some features are unavailable)
      tough - only "camera" makes me .......... that's wy i have stylus with me ;) i can "mount" camera thru holes in canopy ;)

Only you solder the cable directly to the pins. See this connector, ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1_CqlQFXXXXbOXVXXq6xXFXXXx/50sets-Mini-Micro-PH2-0-JST-2-0mm-Pitch-2Pin-Connector-with-1007-26AWG-100mm-150mm.jpg_640x640.jpg , I also upped the cable AWG in to 1 grade thicker. I get 3 noticable benefits out of this. 1) At 30 seconds mark, battery is still showing 3.7v 2) Better thrust, especially when battery is still 4.2v 3) Lesser heat on the battery connector, in fact no heat on mine at all.

    Is it really the frame being less durable ??? I think it's more the pressure being on it, bc of the higher speed...

    Brushed gets taken down by a stray hair. My us65 came with a bad camera, then they sent me another bad camera. I love my ur65 though.

    Put mockingbird on both and review the difference. It's a phenomenal difference in control and accuracy on all UX/UR/US/UK platforms.

    I'm really liking my QX65 in the house, I only have a small house so brushless is a little too much for my space but the brushed version is perfect for smaller indoor spaces. Looks like 2 of your batteries are over charging? What is your experience with the single usb charger? I found mine undercharges my packs I'm not sure if it's just mine or them chargers in general. Thanks for the video :)

    Instead of buying new frames all the time, how bout just spend money on a tougher drone in the first place. Oh well, my two cents.
