I totally agree Jennie! Caroline is a skincare hero, she has a real no nonsense and humorous approach to taking care of your face! Loved the questions, especially about Rosacea and the skincare wardrobe…us Irish girls have an issue with redness etc. so I will definitely be buying a few different serums to tackle this. More of the same please 98fm ;-)

I found this extremely helpful! don't know a huge amount about beauty and skincare, so found this approach really friendly and accessible

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Caroline Hirons is a glorified sales assistant? I remember once she announced a contest on her blog. A winner would get the priceless 1 hour long skin consultation with Ms. Hirons: either in person, or...VIA SKYPE. SKYPE. What self-respecting facialist would claim to perform a skin consultation: THROUGH SKYPE?????

You should use SPF not - to prevent pigmentation marks, but obviously, to prevent photoageing. What did she not mention that? Effectuve SPF is THE best antiageing ingredient known to science. Yess, better than retinol etc in PREVENTING wrinkles.

Errr....our skin is not "different" every day. You don't need a wardrobe of products (3 serums, 5 moisturisers, 9 eye creams, 12 masks etc.) The only people who say you do are the SALESPEOPLE pushing "a wardrobe of products". Your skin will react (redness, sensitivity, dryness or whatever) after prolonged exposure to a particular ingredient: because it's irritated, thats one reason. Yes, then you should switch: but why go back to the irritant????? Also, without consistent use (a routine) NO COSMETIC WILL WORK, regardless of its price or "scientifically proven results". You need to use sth. consistently FOR UNTOLD WEEKS to see results. Only silicone gives "instant" effect of smooth skin etc.

***** When asked does your skin need a wardrobe of products (5.40): your skin is different EVERY DAY (false, by the way) further down the line; you don't need to spend a fortune (well, just add it together and tell me it's not a fortune), but you need a milk cleanser, gel cleanser, cream cleanser, acid toners, serums (numerous) - why????
Sometimes you may have a bit of redness, you want to take it down with a serum, another day you're worried about pigmentation - ????
I'm sorry, but NO cosmetic will work if used occasionally, also, the more products you put on your face, the greater risk of irritation. This "redness" on your skin can actually be contact dermatitis caused by overuse of cosmetics - in a chaotic order.
Not to rub it in, but Hirons recommends Dr. Perricone, SkinCeuticals and she's interviewed in SpaceNK; the mothership of overpriced brands.

***** Please stop defendimg her... she said your skin is different everyday so you meed lots of different products. i'm glad you like a routine she recommended for you but i'm sure it's overpriced by at least $40 and has polenty of irritants that would be bad for most skins

I understand what you're saying... But I think your taking what she's saying out of context.
I'm pretty sure she really just means to switch up your skin care based on how your skin is. Obviously if you have a main issue like redness or pigmentation, etc., you'll need to consistently use a product to actually reap the benefits to help solve said issues, of course.
But a lot of people who are experiencing different types of issues, outside of their norm, continue to use what they always have used--which are not targeted to whatever issues they may feel they have--and somehow hope that it'll still solve their problems.
I think that's really what she's getting at.

Agreed. Caroline is a con artist and a mere counter person.
