The most helpful explanation of how to use the pedal. I was so frustrated trying to understand this and the fact that you show it done at the same time by providing the pictures is just so helpful! Especially to a somewhat beginner. I love how you explain things so slowly as it is easier to get a grasp to try to learn.

The coordination is tough at first, but once you get it, you'll never forget it and it'll be a breeze!

Great exercises and buildup. I like how you start with 4 beats and then pare it down. Something I will work on. And, yes, best explanation of how to properly use the pedal I have come across. Thanks for all your tutorials. They really help!

I have just discovered your channel. Your videos have exceptional content and exceptional production (camera angles, editing, etc), congratulations!
A question on pedalling - both my method book and my tutor have told me that one lifts the pedal (just for a moment) immediately _after_ the hand comes down to play a new note/chord. Rather than lifting the pedal _as_ the hand comes down, and then pressing it down half a beat later, as per this video. Is one technique a precursor to another?
Thank you, and thanks for the care you obviously take with your fantastic videos.

Technically, your method book and tutor are correct. The pedal comes up a *split second* after you play the key. However, since it's so close, I find it's easier to think of it as *at the same time*. Try thinking about it both ways - you'll be able to hear if it's not right. :)
