I absolutely love this installment of your UA-cam channel! I can't wait to see many many more of these.
I think what appeals to me the most is not only your process in drawing that you show as you speak.. But also the fact that you ignite my own artist mind and creativity to run wild with stories about each of these characters as you explain their personalities and strengths. I'm thinking that scenarios may show their kryptonite their weaknesses would be helpful and furthering the intrigue of each character. After all I've been on the earth for 72 years and realize that our character ; our strengths and weaknesses emerge and are magnified by the struggles and challenges that we face throughout life. .. I call it the refiner's fire. So if you are going to develop storylines of your own apart from the game or in the game.. There will be problems to be solved and there needs to be of course a villain or antagonist. I'm very excited to see where you're going to take these things and continue to show your process in both art and in your reasoning of character development. I 💖THIS!!
This is BRILLIANT ! Your creativity in character development has no bounds. Rare in life do we meet a master storyteller. You are MASSIVELY gifted and SKILLED as both an visual artist and a Storyteller!
The characters exude their traits in their faces and stance and attire.
Thank you! Character design is one of my favorite things and I take it very seriously. I'm glad that it shows.
I love the way ( after I listened to the senerio you talked about in The Trusting Nature of Garyle....) that we can all identify with each character! We as humans love games and stories ..because we can identify and see ourselves in a character...We are multifaceted beings!
It's always important that the characters we make are relatable to the audience in one way or another. That's what makes characters truly loveable. And one of the best ways to do that is to give the character flaws. Because we are all flawed in some way.
Now, about Garyle. .. I think that if you are writing a scenario for him that both the lunar and solar character Confide in him. He is their confidant because they can trust him. He would be central in a story plot in determining decisions and outcomes. Which would be a big twist on the supporting character that you would think that he would play. In times of very high stress and trouble each of the other characters come to him as a sounding board.
I agree. Garl was already a major character in the game, but I felt that it could be done much better without him coming across as "too perfect". So I tried to fix that in my reimagining of him.
I hate Mary Sue characters. There is a book in my library called Building Believable Characters. It talks about adding flaws. I have a character who has a bad temper and is bad at socializing specifically with boys. I also formed a source for her bad temper. She learned it from her father and it is a major revelation to her when she realizes where she gets it from. Adding reasons behind characteristics helps add dimension.. Same character plays basketball specifically because growing up she hoped her father, who also played basketball, would pay more attention to her.
@@Meemer33 That’s great! I also really hate Mary Sue characters, especially since I used to have one. Giving a character flaws, and a reason behind their flaws is always a great way to make a believable character. I always try to do that with every one I make. I’ll look into the book you mentioned.
Hands are tough to draw. I paid a lot of attention to your hand sketches.
@@Meemer33 You’re absolutely right. I still don’t fully understand how to draw them. I kinda just wing it. I can’t draw anything too complicated with hands though.
