Watching this after seeing the 8.2.3 patch notes is such a relief - I'm so happy they reverted her movement speed and made it so that you could see the aura of scan lines through walls
I realized that I was a passive skull merchant player since I would just place drones and hope that survivors get scanned and get claw trapped. Now I am encouraged to really use her drones and rotating them even if they are far away. I think this change really makes skull merchant mains really "play" her style of hunting survivors
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the current state of Skull Merchant. This video has made me feel a lot more confident in trying to pick her up again. That being said though, I hope that they polish up and revert some of the changes they made to her kit.
I miss her trapping play style. I understand that with 1 line it's much harder to get a drone from scouting mode to an active mode. But ditching the scouting mode altogether was not so bright an idea by the devs. They could've left the scouting mode with 2 lines and once the drone scans someone, the line that scanned the survivor is the line that remains active rotating.
@@Pinkyc0rn332 look at the new bugfix patch, she's getting her speed back and she can see her drone lines from anywhere on the map (it was a bug, ofc).
I liked that skully was a trap killer since we don't have a lot of that in DBD with a unique trap ability different then the current 2 we have, her traps were weaker then trapper or hag but there able to he used in chases with lazertag using, in a lot of ways you felt like the predator, new skully basically can only use traps in chase with Lazer tagging and anti looping to get haste and hinder so basically skully is now the clown and instead of getting the slowdowns on demand you have extra hoops to get it and a added injury
I really think there was some potential in the rework, but it feels as though with how hard it is to get claw traps its more of a pressure/punishment tool than her main thing now. I find myself just taking normal hits if I know it's going to waste too much time to get a trap, and still have to chase the survivor. It is so hard to get claw traps unless you have enough drones preset, but I will say it's fun to rotate and get the haste in chase! I love your talk about her identity, an assassin with info, which is what I love about her. I do wish she had some other bloodlusty, dash attack or something since her whole thing is learning how to outdo her targets, be flashy and cruel, and she gets frustrated and impatient when targets succeed! Im also a console SM main, so the difficulty to rotate, select the right drone in a direction with multiple, etc. Is still frustrating since its much harder to scan passively, but I am starting to like this iteration of her!
If the devs want Skull Merchant to be more skill-based, they should provide buffs to facilitate that like being able to see scan lines through walls, increasing the base time survivors are trackable since you no longer get passive haste, increasing the scan line's rotation further than the 10% percent and letting you check your radar at normal speed. Removing the passive haste, slowing you down when you deploy a drone and making drones always visible within range is fair, but there should be more buffs to off-set them somewhat so she's still as lethal yet not as easy to get results.
Ok, what I want BHRV to change is simple: When the claw trap batteries dies, the survivor must remove the trap off manually (except expired batteries), Make the scans immunity (2.25) her base kit, rework some of her add-ons, The Skull Merchant is able is see all of the drones scan line, and Vaulting a Pallet while wearing a Claw Trap will cause that Pallet to break, destroying the Claw Trap in the process (base kit).
They should 100% bring back the claw trap breaking pallets. You have to work so much harder for the claw traps now so it would be a better reward than what we get rn
On a positive note, they just removed her slow down when she checks her radar, so it's super worth it out tag people now, also she can always see the scan lines
Omg I loooooooooove when you do discussion videos Honestly I’ve said it before but she doesn’t feel as bad as I thought. The 1 scan line is more fun and the haste feels more rewarding when pulled off. I actually really like expired batteries + brown noise generator because it lets me know where everyone is and be stealthy, and bevause survivors still get scanned outside of chase for some reason I get value from the both of them throughout the match. However, she’s just not streamlined enough for these changes, they needed to give her further compensations as well as reverting some of the more questionable nerfs like the vault immunity
the vault immunity was beyond stupid, imagine if trickster and plague cant take a health state on windows because the survivors greed the vaults instead of baiting or dogging. lol.
@@taluca8474 yeah it’s very jarring seeing all of those scan lines. Maybe it’s just something that we have to get used to because we’re just not used to so much clutter.😂😭☠️
yeah on paper the changes didnt sound that bad, but in gameplay its kinda meh since it took out the trapping and ambush aspect of her kit. the hinder/haste stacking was a pretty boring part of her kit.

Ahaha. They literally did this in new patch notes. Sm speed when checking radar is 4.6 and she can see lines all the time
