met the band once at the airport - Augustus had taken a non-stop to the international concert. the band was illuminated . gave me a personnal cassefte. a year or two later again they came. with Augustus this time. a saint. full band and herb doctor you could see he needed it. destination this time?: JAHpan, baby. when i got to my car tgat afternoon his tape was in the car cassette. album cover is the one of him his melodica by a mountain creek. i believe youtubeski has/had a superb video of one of the concerts. look fpr it. shouldvPlease be released harekrishna from the everglades : )
The reggae festival called Reggae Japan Splash was a bit of a strange festival, as I didn't know what was going on until I arrived at the venue on the day of the event. In 1986, the cast of Japasp was Black Uhuru, Sugar Minott, Leroy Sibbles, and Sister Carol. The notice said, ``Black Uhuru, who was scheduled to perform today, has difficulty coming to Japan, and instead, Frankie Paul and Augustus Pablo have been decided to perform. 』 Since I was a junior high school student, I wanted to see Black Uhuru live, so it was a pity, but there were two substitutes! Moreover, one is Frankie Paul, a blind reggae singer, and the other is Augustus Pablo, a legendary melodica player who was said to rarely travel from Jamaica to other countries. To be honest, the substitute was a gorgeous and happy miscalculation. (Other years, Maxi Priest made a sudden visit to Japan to replace a mid-tier band.) When Augustus Pablo, who dislikes expeditions, why he bothered to come to such a distant country as Japan, he said in an interview, ``Japan has a ja in the name of the country.
