Dione was an ancient earth goddess and the only wife of Zeus, before the cult of Zeus spread across Ancient Greece, combining Zeus with other goddesses from different regions until he ended up with Hera as his wife.
The worshipers of Hera then tried to lessen Zeus' involvement with other goddesses as betrayals, and by making the original wife, Dione, be almost completely forgotten.

Aphrodite is either daughter of Dione and Zeus or Uranus and the sea. Mhm, but according to Hesiod, who says the sky and sea foam thing, Dione was an oceanid, a sea goddess, so put it together and Aphrodite is the daughter of Uranus and Dione, a sea nymph/goddess, and not just the normal sea

    • @gaventer2022

The epithets of Aphrodite gave way to an elegant solution to this problem, as later poets such as Plato outright split the goddess into two different beings. *Aphrodite Urania* and *Aphrodite Pandemos* .
*Urania* became the *motherless* child of Uranus, and *Pandemos* became the daughter of Zeus & Dione.

@@gaventer2022 I know that. That was just Fan thinking of myself to combine both birth stories. By the way some poets used Hesiods birth story (motherless daughter of Uranus and born out of sea) and replace the normal sea with Thalassa, goddess and female personification of the sea. Therefore Aphrodite was still born out of the sea but actually has a mother

So, Uranus being a Primordial Being and father of Titans, and Dione a minor sea Goddess (Nymph)... so, that puts Aphrodite as a child of Uranas, and so making her a Titan.
But since her mother wasn't Gaia or a Titan, that brings her power as a "Titan" down to essentially the same power level as a God(dess) and so her being an Olympian but not a super powerful one makes sense.
Plus, severed testicles of Uranas maybe just didn't make as much powerful Seed as it would've usually. So it would be like a Titan's seed instead of a Primordial's. So that mixed with a minor Goddess, yeah that makes Aphrodite a Goddess if we go the line of Primordial > Titan/Giant > Goddess

@@nightwishlady According to Hesiod he had at least three wives, and Dione is not one of them. According to Pindar he had two, and again Dione is not among them. Mythologically speaking, Dione is one of his many paramours and not an actual wife at all, let alone his first - that position belongs to, depending on the version, Metis, Themis or Hera herself. Historically speaking, Dione was Zeus's consort in a local cult (at Dodona), but that doesn't make her his wife before Hera; it just makes her his local consort at the same time Hera is his consort at a Panhellenic level.

Dude literally the Oracle of Dodona which in fact is in Albania is a perfect example of the *Druids* , why do l say that ? Well in Dodona the prophecy came from leaves of a special trees and in Albanian language which mind you is older than most languages *Dru* means *Wood / Tree* so a *Druid means of woods* . As for *Dione* her name literally means *Goddess of wisdom or intelligence* since *Di* means *to know* while her husband *Zeus mean Voice/ Sound* . In fact only through Albanian language do these names make perfect sense since they are words used still. *Aphrodite means Near Dawn or the day is near*

      Druids are Pagan.
"The gnostic Sophia is all that remains of Israel's goddess.
Christians knew that Christ was the powerofGod,i.e. the Angel, and also the Wisdom of God (I Cor. 1 .24); he was the incar n ation of both aspects, but the female element had been purged from Israel's cult and from our reading of the Old Testament by the reformers of the seventh century BC. The most enigmatic of Enoch 's histories of Israel says that wisdom was forsaken just before the destruction of the first temple by those who had become blinded (I Enoch 93.8), and the refugees described by Jeremiah vowed that they would resume the worship of the queen of heaven since neglect of her had caused the disaster (Jer. 44. 17-I 9). To say that Wisdom was 'personified' in later texts is to prejudge the issue, especially when there are inscriptions from the eighth century BC showing a consort for Yahweh.
Wisdom was one of the angels (I Enoch 42.2), cf. 'Astaphaios's feminine name is Sophia. These are ... the powers of the seven heavens' (OOW CG.II.5.106); 'And the light Eleleth, which hesetover the fourth aeon, has three aeons within it which are Perfection, Peace and Sophia' (Ap. John CG.II.1.8); Wisdom was the female counter part of the great archon: 'His male name is the [Begetting of the] Perfect One.
And his female name [is] All-wise Begettress Sophia. It is also said that she resembles her brother and her consort ... ' (Lettero/Eugnostos, CG.III.3.76); Wisdom was an emanation from God (Wisd. 7.25-6), cf. ' ... from the first angel who stands by the side of the Only Begotten, the Holy Spirit has been sent forth whom they term Sophia' (Against Heresies I.29.4).
      As the Holy Spirit, Wisdom was the agent of creation (Prov. 3.19;
8.27-30; Wisd. 7.7, 22, 23)and the tradition in the Targums interpreted Gen I . I as 'By Wisdom God created .. :, cf. 'Sophia Zoe sent her breath into Adam who was without a soul .. : (OOW CG.I1.5.102), 'Sophia who is called Pistis, wanted to create something, alone without her consort .. : (HA CG.II.4.94). She was the 'master workman' (Prov. 8.30), cf."

My hypothesis, with nothing to support it (just a notion) is that the changes represent some form of usurpation. Such as one tribe either conquering or absorbing another. For example, a divine from Tribe A mates with a divine from Tribe B to create an amalgam of the two divines illustration the union of the two groups. In the case of Aphrodite, she was imported into Greece during the Greek Dark Age following the Bronze Age collapse. It could be that Dione was the original version who was replaced by Aphrodite. Similarly, Athena may be a replacement of Metis.

“And they [the gods] were said to have brought forth double-winged human beings, also others with four wings and two faces; and with one body and two heads, man and woman, male and female within one creature; still other human beings had thighs of goats and horns upon their heads; others had the feet of horses; others were horses behind and men in front; there were also said to have been man-headed bulls and four-bodied dogs, whose tails emerged like fish-tails from their backs; also horses with heads of dogs . . . and other monsters, such as all kinds of dragon-like beings . . . and a great number of wondrous creatures, variously formed and all different from one another, whose images they ranged one beside the other in the Temple of Belos, and preserved.” - Egyptian historian named Manethos
"And they took wives for themselves and everyone chose for himself one each. And they began to go into them and were promiscuous with them. And they taught them charms and spells, and they showed them the cutting of roots and trees. And they became pregnant and bore large giants. And their height was three thousand cubits. These devoured all the toil of men; until men were unable to sustain them. And the giants turned against them in order to devour men. And they began to sin against birds, and against animals, and against reptiles, and against fish, and they devoured one another’s flesh, and drank the blood from it."
    Enoch 7:1-5
"The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth."
    Genesis 6:11-13
Look at the kinds of gods that the ancient civilizations people are exalting today (for the knowledge they so easily seduced us with back then) served. Gods who sure enough taught them cool things, but then demanded innocent human blood sacrifice, abominated human dna with animals, created dark cannibalistic giants and totally destroyed and enslaved humanity.
"And the spirits of the giants do wrong, are corrupt, attack, fight, break on the Earth, and cause sorrow. And they eat no food, do not thirst, and are not observed. And these spirits will rise against the sons of men, and against the women, because they came out of them during the days of slaughter and destruction." - Enoch 15:11-12
"For although they knew (Greek: ginosko: to know by experience ) God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the creator." - Romans 1: 20
The destruction of all these megalithic sites we can hardly recreate today came from God's judgment on the fallen one's who created these structure's - you know, the same gods that some Natives were expecting the Spaniards to be - the gods who taught them how to build pyramids and read the stars and write - and yet the same gods who also demanded innocent lives be sacrificed TO THEM, while the one true God would eventually sacrifice his only son FOR US.
“Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. - Ezekiel 16:20
For God abhors pagan idolatry so much he sent that great example and savior to defeat this fallen world and pardon our genetic and spiritually fallen nature, for us humans only.
Six finger, six toe giants described by and drawn on the rocks of Native Americans:
"And Elehanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi, the brother of Goliath the Gittite . . . And yet there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, six on each foot, and he also was the son of the giant. Jonathan the son of Shimea, David’s brother, slew him. These were born unto the giant in Gath and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants." - 1st Chronicles 20:4-8
The Bible is full of verses shunning paganism and their sacrifices and rituals which open us to demonic influence like these entities who use MIRACLES aka technology, and lying signs and wonders to SEDUCE humans into selling out their own redemption.
"[The occultist] is brought into intelligent communication with the spirits of the air, and can receive any knowledge which they possess, or any false impression they choose to impart...the demons seem permitted to do various wonders at their request." - G.H. Pember
God is our father and we his children, not some fluffy, vague energy source called "The Universe". The interdimensional Angels who rebelled and hybridized their dna with ours and animals' slapped God right in the face as they created wild abominations and the same giants Native American tribes had to fight and exterminate - the giant cannibals were causing hell for them. They reigned as gods, kings and queens and eventually their hybrid children threatened ALL OF HUMANITY - God's Imagers on Earth. This caused their destruction by the flood, and later, with God's help always, the 12 Isrealite Tribes destroyed these leftover remnant giants.
"Og king of Bashan was the last of the Rephaites. His bed was decorated with iron and was more than nine cubits long and four cubits wide. It is still in Rabbah of the Ammonites." - Deuteronomy 3:11
"He [Og of Bashan] ruled over Mount Hermon, Salekah, all of Bashan to the border of the people of Geshur and Maakah, and half of Gilead to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon. Moses, the servant of the LORD, and the Israelites conquered them. And Moses the servant of the LORD gave their land to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh to be their possession." - Joshua 12:4-6
Imagine walking into battle vs giants and what faith it must take! When the Isrealites first arrived and saw themselves "as grasshoppers" and brought back a single cluster of grapes that took two men to carry, only 2 of the 12 spies, Joshua and Caleb, wanted to fight, cursing the rest of the older generation (who would rather return to slavery in Egypt) to die in the desert even after they saw so many miracles prior.
"'The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there, the descendants of Anak. We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them. That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. '" - Numbers 13:32-14:1
Life is a school. God judges harsh like all good parents do, with discipline and consequences for breaking the rules they set into place for our PROTECTION. There are barriers for a reason. You don't tell kids to go into the world wherever they want and interact however they want with whoever they want. If a simple highway can be hazardous to a blind man, imagine diving into the spiritual realm you don't even reside inside. The experiences therein can be manipulated by native forces that don't have good intentions for the eternal destiny of your soul. You must control your child for it's own safety. God, being our FATHER, feels this way.
"When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God."
But God also has mercy and, knowing that we all sin (lie, cheat, steal, lust, etc.) on this fallen earth, he sent a savior for us all to accept and love. Yeshua is the only way out of this fallen, satanic illuminati run world.
“For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man…. For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.” (1 Corinthians 11:8; 12)
"In the past decade, scientists have confirmed that the Y chromosome (passed down through males) does not recombine or change through generations. Thus, a Y chromosome of a man today would be the same as his paternal ancestors’ 6,000 years ago. The genetic inheritance of sin nature from fathers is why God ordained that the Messiah would come through “the seed of the woman.” The prophesied Savior would have a human mother but God as His father. Therefore, the corrupted spiritual nature inherited (trauma and bad habits leave markers on genes) from Adam would not pass on to Him. Jesus Christ did not bear the corrupted flesh all other people in human history possess. He was not begotten of Adam. He was the “only begotten” Son of God - His spiritual nature was wholly divine. Suddenly, the term “only begotten” in John 3:16 takes on much greater meaning." - Ryan Pitterson, Judgment of the Nephilim
The pagan gods of old Sumeria - Babylon - Egypt - Greek - Roman- Pagan worldwill make another appearance here, this time as space brothers and creators who are here to evolve us past our petty differences into one world 🌎 of CONTROL.

I think there was never any indication that Dione (pronounced Dee oh knee) was ever Zeus wife (let alone first wife). Metis the Titaness was his first wife but he ate her in the same way that Kronos had eaten his children to prevent any of his children replacing him as ruler of the universe. There was a prophecy that Metis would bear a child more powerful than the father and Zeus to prevent this destroyed Metis. Metis was the Titaness of Wisdom and Zeus paid for his crime because he started suffering from headaches and his skull was split open by Hephaestus, I think, to allow Athena, the new goddess of Wisdom to arise from Zeus' head.\
It seems this prophecy of a more powerful son kept following Zeus around and Thetis a sea goddess, with whom Zeus was planning to start a sexual liason, also had a similar prophecy. This time Zeus was more sensible and married Thetis to King Pelus who fathered the greatest Greek warrior of all time: Achilles.

    • @omniavanitas7893

You're right. Different accounts exist, but Zeus' first wife is either Metis (according to Hesiod), Themis (according to Pindar), or Hera (according to pretty much everyone else).

    • @carlosdanielsouza9017
      @carlosdanielsouza9017 2 роки тому +2

Dione comes from the original Zeus myth, before it spread through Ancient Greece, when Zeus was just an "adaptation" of the Proto-Indo-European god Dyeus. She was an earth goddess.
Zeus didn't destroy Metis, he trapped her inside him. She is still alive, and still his wife, which is why he is not loyal to Hera.
The prediction about Thetis is irrelevant as Zeus was not the only god courting her at the time. The other was Poseidon.

I really dont think people realize that the Greeks got pretty much everything from the Egyptians (gods especially)... and watered it all down significantly. Zeus is what the Greeks collectively chose to make the chief god Amun. Amun (Or "Amen"...like the "amen" that you say at the end of your prayers 😐)isn't hardly ever made as human in Egyptian mythology as Zeus is made by the Greeks. The creative aspect of God is replaced by more crude sex acts....this is partially why the Egyptians frequently referred to Greeks as "children".

Anyone else find it entertaining that modern westerners project their values into mythology? Retconning everything to make it pc for today.
Not only do they assume that gods (from THOUSANDS of years ago) should act like modern western men, but they believe that the King of the gods and a powerful force of nature is going to act like some christian peasant from the Victorian era.
Of course the king of the gods will have multiple lovers. Kings always did. That's kinda the whole point of being a king, go read in the bible how many wives the righteous king Solomon and the biblical kings had. Now imagine being a king AND a god.
Why do you think marriage got invented? To designate the heir to the throne from the offspring of MULTIPLE women the king had mated with.

They seek the damsels to deceive.
For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
And I saw a flaming fire. And beyond these mountains Is a region the end of the great earth: there the heavens were completed. And I saw a deep abyss, with columns of heavenly fire, and among them I saw columns of fire fall, which were beyond measure alike towards the height and towards the depth. And beyond that abyss I saw a place which had no firmament of the heaven above, and no firmly founded earth beneath it: there was no water upon it, and no birds, but it was a waste and horrible place.
I saw there seven stars like great burning mountains, and to me, when I inquired regarding them, The angel said: 'This place is the end of heaven and earth: this has become a prison for the stars and the host of heaven. And the stars which roll over the fire are they which have transgressed the commandment of the Lord in the beginning of their rising, because they did not come forth at their appointed times. And He was wroth with them, and bound them till the time when their guilt should be consummated (even) for ten thousand years.'
And Uriel said to me: 'Here shall stand the angels who have connected themselves with women, and their spirits assuming many different forms are defiling mankind and shall lead them astray into sacrificing to demons as gods, (here shall they stand,) till the day of the great judgement in which they shall be judged till they are made an end of. And the women also of the angels who went astray shall become sirens.' And I, Enoch, alone saw the vision, the ends of all things: and no man shall see as I have seen.
They elevated me aloft to heaven. I proceeded, until I arrived at a wall built with stones of crystal. A vibrating flame surrounded it, which began to strike me with terror.
    Into this vibrating flame I entered;
And drew nigh to a spacious habitation built also with stones of crystal. Its walls too, as well as pavement, were formed with stones of crystal, and crystal likewise was the ground. Its roof had the appearance of agitated stars and flashes of lightning; and among them were cherubim of fire in a stormy sky. A flame burned around its walls; and its portal blazed with fire. When I entered into this dwelling, it was hot as fire and cold as ice. No trace of delight or of life was there. Terror overwhelmed me, and a fearful shaking seized me.
Violently agitated and trembling, I fell upon my face.
