2k a month for a shitty 1 bedroom. How are you supposed to even start a family. You're spending 24k a year just on RENT. We get taxed 50% of our income. Living with any level of comfort in this shoebox appartment in the second largest country in the world would mean you'd need to make at least 80k if you want to keep your housing costs under 30% of your income. Meanwhile, median income in Canada 41k. More than half of canadians can't even afford the shittiest, smallest appartment.
