Absoltely fantastic. Usually I never comment videos, but I really have to say that I'm so impressed especially at the end, when you play and sing. You sound great❤
I love your videos. Well presented and straight to the point. I only ever want to learn the piano parts to sing to. Took an amateur like me around 3 hours to get this down with all the fills. Love those little details. I always check your channel first when I embark on a new song. Thank you 👍😎
I’ve been looking for tutorials that assume the vocals are being sung. Surprisingly hard to find. You did a wonderful job, hope to be able to perform this someday!
Hey great tutorial i learned how to play creep thanks to you and now im learning this. as a radiohead fan im very thankful can you make a tutorial on jigsaw falling into place - another radiohead song i mean i know it takes a lot of time to do the video its just a suggestion its a pretty good song and i’d love you to teach it think about it thanks 🥰
My pleasure! I hear you...you can do a lot of learning on a smaller keyboard (i did for many years growing up) but at some point you will feel held back and it is worth investing in a full size digital piano if you can!
This is an amazing tutorial, Nate! I was wondering if you have any tips for changing the key of a song to fit your voice? Would also love to add Dreams by The Cranberries to your request list :)
Hi, thanks for the kind words! As for transposing, one shortcut is to look up the song's chord chart on Ultimate Guitar (do it on desktop not mobile) and use the transpose buttons up or down to change the key of the chords displayed. You have to experiment a bit to find the key that fits your voice best and of course know how to find those new chords (check out this video if you havent mastered finding any chord yet ua-cam.com/video/skd1g-wDNV0/v-deo.htmlsi=DNPVJtxhRfeK4AMX) Doing it on your own is not difficult but requires knowledge of how to think about chords within a key (i.e. thinking of chords by universal number...I ii iii IV etc.) and then knowing different major scales. If you want to learn that process, I teach it in my Keys to Chord Progressions course. Good luck!!
Hahah just a split screen, I overdubbed it after I recorded the main part. Just having fun with the production, not a true suggestion for how to play it
Hey nate, I would so love to play this but I'm a beginner... maybe you could add labels to your tutorials to set expectations? I was already overwhelmed within 30s of this video and feel I will need to practice about another year and then come back to this. Also: a more beginner-friendly version would be great (just the basics without slipping in mentions about decorations and whatnot). Just a thought and thank you!
Hi! It's a good suggestion and I will mull it over. In the meantime, I suggest learning each of the chords as I teach them and play the song simply by just playing quarter notes on those chords in the right hand...feel free to ignore all the decorations/details/melodies!
Hi! The Piano Chord Breakthroughs course starts at a very foundational level...you do need to know note names and ideally have some experience playing and moving your fingers around the keys. If you are a beginner, you will need to spend a little extra time with the first few videos. Let me know if you have any other questions! I do have a money-back guarantee (I've just extended it to 30 days) so if you want to give it a try and then you find it's too challenging, just let me know and I'll refund you.
thanks i have some experience know chords etc can play this version of karma police so far just want to kearn some more skills so i will def give a try thanks
Wish there was a chart showing the keys played instead of chords as you need to know the chords for the top line stuff to make sense. For example. L: A R: ACE L: F# R: F# A D L: E R: E G B

this is such a helpful and amazing tutorial, thank you so much! Unfortunately my keyboard is too short to play this properly at the right pitch!
