Idk the companions are important but main story should be a major focus over companions. My worry is it'll be a case of Mass effect two where it's just a buddy comedy-esque game

@@SerfinBird I don't think it'll be like that. They said the companions stories would tie into the overall narrative and that they each represent a faction in the game, so I imagine they'll be more like Tali and Mordin in that sense

honestly for me gameplay is secondary when I play a game like Dragon Age when it's a Heavenly focused Story game the story should always be the most important part of the game

This is awesome, thanks for the kind words! I'm falling in love with the world of Thedas currently. Feels similar to how I fell for Mass Effect 2 years ago. I'll definitely be covering The Veilguard when it comes out as a reference for how those devs could impact the next Mass Effect. :)

Unless you don't care about spoilers, that is :) I liked Dread Wolf as the name much more, to he honest. And i have to agree with some people here in the comments - having playersexual characters is actually a downside to me. It takes away from their agency, as it they are not allowed to be straight or purely gay. And having characters that are unavailable to romance due to my gender usually increases replayability for me, since I care to come back as another gender and romance that cute female character i couldn't before (yes, I'm talking about Tali, obviously)

I can’t wait for the full gameplay/release date trailer to come out on June 11th. I’ve been waiting a long time for this game to come out and it’s just a few days away, as well as waiting for the release date of the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc Movie and seasons 2 of Zom 100, Castlevania Nocturne, Chainsaw Man and X-Men 97 and seasons 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Legend of Vox Machina and Spy X Family. Thankfully, I’ve been playing games like Prince of Persia Lost Crown, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and these were good games. Here are my walkthroughs once I finally get my hands on the PS5 copy. 1. Male Elven Warden. 2. Female Dwarven Crow. 3. Female Human Necromancer. 4. Male Qunari Veil Jumper

I actually loved the representation in DAI. There are so few lesbian characters out there already ... it adds so much to certain characters. (And I know that Dorian's arc helped many people out there!)
Why the article tho? Just Veilguard was fine. I like that All companions are romanceable but I much prefer if they were not playersexual, I feel like it takes something from them but I can get used to it. Mayor loss tho would be only being able to take Two companions with you and not bei g able to manualy control them
I can understand how character-specific sexualities is more realistic, but there is a tendency to underrepresent certain sexualities in most AAA-games, so defaulting to playersexual makes the most sense to me. And I think playersexual is better for a casual fan that won't do more than one playthrough. I hope we can control the companions too. I enjoyed the creative combat freedom in Origins a lot.
I'm not massively concerned with romances in games unless it makes the story better (like with Morrigan). So I actually didn't romance anyone in DA2 or Inquisition plus if it was real life there's absolutely none of them I'd go for, so I'm not an expert but I agree in a sense in that it feels shallow and artificial. If my actual real life girlfriend was attracted to every man and his dog then I wouldn't feel like she really liked me. Do you know what I mean? It wouldn't feel special. There's also the case of BG3 where "consent" doesn't seem to translate particularly well into gaming code as the minute you're nice to someone they're trying to bum you. It's like "calm down, lads. I only came over to see if you have any quests if I boost your approval" but on the flip side it probably depends how they're written. So Gale for example clearly likes women because that's literally his whole arch, so it's got to feel strange being gay with him. Minthara talks about having sex with men, Shadowheart talks very much about big muscles ect. So these will probably feel jarring if the character is talking about their type and it's not your character but your character is in romance with them. The best thing to do then is not have them mention their sexuality at all and seeing as it is a video game I suppose it's all about fun and choice
Wait hold up, all romances for DATV will be playersexual??? omg I don't have to play as a gender I don't want, to get with my veilguard husband, nice. Hope one of them is a buff and/or bearded guy. They would not have a dwarf as a party member, so finally dwarves can be romanceable.
@@solarbiter5446same. The world sucks. The new world solas wants to build would probably be better. Though they’re probably gonna make him completely insane rather than the tragic villain he was in tresspasser. Also, sandal claimed in DA2 that the old magic would return. He pretty much confirmed that the veil will come down.
The Veilguard I assume is meant to protect the veil from being opened by Solas. I think anyone playing this game would benefit from playing Inquisition first. Origins is still the best though. Playing Origins, then DA2, and then DAI will give the most impact since you'll encounter familiar characters & hopefully choices can import over. Not sure how they plan to do that these days though. Mass Effect trilogy is still my favorite though because you do play the same character. I can't think of any other game that does that.
Don't like the whole DA2 route where everyone is bisexual just to please the player. But hey, as long as its well written and the characters are compelling its ok I guess.
Aw man, I am sad it'll be down to 2 companions over 3. For me, restricting doesn't increase replayability. The big choices and meaningful impacts on the world or companions do. To me, story is everything. Good gameplay is just a bonus. Not many games these days focus on amazing stories. Old Bioware games like Kotor has horribly dated gameplay but is still one of the best stories I've ever played. Dragon Age Origins also would be considered to have 'dated' or horrible gameplay by modern standards, but it still has the most meat story & RPG wise & amazing companions. It also has a ton of replayability due to the different origin stories. Same with Morrowwind which has the best Elder Scrolls story but has horrible gameplay imo.
From my past experience being a long time Bioware fan, I do not take Gamble's tweets seriously at all lol A lot of things he hyped up ended up being underwhelming or not true
BioWare would never have the balls to do that. If obsidian was making the game, we’d have that option. Thing is, I actually agree with solas. I WANT the old magic back. Because the current world of thedas honestly sucks. The veil going up was like the burning of the library of Alexandria.
Im just not sure about this new game, I really didnt like the tone or the art style of Veil Guard. I dont want to be unfairly negative, but the dark fantsy is what drew me into the Dragon Age franchise originally, its why I bought all the books, but I feel like this might be a drastic departure.
