In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
The best part of Mel talking about the raw wool is that she is being 100% genuine which is both lovely and absolutely hilarious

Victoria's prize was AMAZING trolling, I love it so so so much.
The best part is that Greg cuts her off with "you won't disappoint," and Victoria is still setting up the savage "he wants to see the best team--Man U" punchline.
She just plays it perfectly straight. That's what makes it perfect. "This is a good gift!"
I was half expecting a montage of all of the series 10 prize tasks hahaha

She makes CLEARLY humorous jabs at the team, like "he likes Arsenal... for whatever reason" and buying a voucher is the icing on the cake. Yes, it's a terrible gift - but that's the POINT. Pretending to "not get sports" as an excuse to say "wouldn't you prefer a team that's good?"
It's genuinely one of the funniest moments of the series in my opinion
They're also friends in real life, so there's no way on earth she didn't know *precisely* what she was doing 😂
Victoria's gift was the peak of trolling while feigning innocence, so funny! Only thing that was slightly disappointing from that section was how Greg, Alex and Alan all kept cutting her off mid-sentence. You can hear her trying to speak but not being able to. I bet she had more shades prepared but alas we will never know for sure.
I dunno, I don’t know much about football but frequently wonder why people watch shit teams just coz they live near them when they could watch the good teams like Man U coz they’re on telly all the time.

Victoria should've got a bonus point for the sheer Machiavellian-ness of buying Alan a Man U ticket.
It was glorious. Especially since everyone else was really nice. It made her genious shine even brighter.
It was only for part of the season, not the entire run

@@invidatauro8922 of course she did! You may be the only person i've seen, aside from Ed Gamble (in the taskmaster podcast), who thinks she didin't know exactly, what she was doing. She may not like sport, but everybody is aware of team rivalry in sports. Especially someone who hosts a quiz show for 16 years.
the comments under that podcast (which has Alan Davies as guest) on youtube are 95% "of course she did, what is Ed talking about?" And you can see Alan admiring, as comedian, what she does there, while being speechless as an Arsenal fan.

As soon as Alex started explaining the first prize task I burst into laughter knowing what was going to come. Knowing that Alan Davies is Victoria's comedy hero just makes it so much better (or worse, for the both of them probably)!

I am convinced Mel is an alien ever since the task with the dogs, when she "popped" some sausages into her "driving gloves." Nobody else has ever done that or even considered doing that in the history of humankind.
Yes but in the novel she lived in the next town over and has spent her life trying to be as wholesome as Mr and Mrs Pennyfield and all the little Pennyfields.

Well, I'm utterly convinced Bob Mortimer grew up as a character in the Beano, so Mel growing up in an Enid Blyton novel would not shock me.
She has the enthusiasm of a preschool teacher who loves her job
Daisy's effort in the prize tasks is really summed up by "all i have to say is crumpet"
I think even she would acknowledge she gave the least effort on the prize tasks
@@Tao_Tology Greg called her out, not by name, in an interview he did. He was complaining that some people started the treating the prize task as a way to unload their old bullshit taking up space in their house by bringing it to the show, and that specifically in Series 10, there was one contestant who seemed to grab something off the counter on their way out without putting any thought into it. After watching the series, the person he was referring to was obviously Daisy.
Anytime one of my family or friends orders a creme brûlée, I always sing that jingle. And it's always only funny to me.
Until a friend ordered it in the UK, I sang the jingle, and the waiter knew immediately what I was doing and caught the tail end of the song with me and said "One point!"
...that was a special evening 🤣
Out of all of them, Victoria's is easily the most funniest and easily the worst for me.
It's even funnier when you know she's one of the winningest female poker players of all time - she could have totally afforded the full season ticket.

I'd love to see that first clip uploaded in full. Everyone being so nice to each other (which thoroughly annoyed Greg) was one of Taskmaster's best moments.
Also, this clip shows two entries from the "burstable" task, and neither of them are Joe's solitary grape.

For "The Most Satifying Item the Size of a Cat" prize task, I would bought a twin-size bed. My argument would be that since a specific cat size wasn't mentioned I decided to buy something the size of a Bengal tiger.
I didn’t realize how giant Greg is 😂.
6' 8" and big. Aside from Richard Osman, he pretty much dwarfs everyone else on stage. Crazy how small Alex--who, at 6' 2", is tall himself--looks next to him.

The first one is the moment that makes me the most annoyed by Greg from all of ‘Taskmaster’. It is the most brilliant trolling ever and should have been the easiest five points. Obviously it wasn’t literally what he would desire but she delivered it in such a straight-faced faux-naive way that the judging should have played along. And Ed and Alex are really stupid about it on the podcast - they seem to think she really didn’t understand how partisan football fans are.
She's said though on the pod she genuinely didn't know -- she's not sporty at all, so didn't get it
@@anthonypaparo No, she hasn’t. I’ve listened to every episode and she has said no such thing (unless obviously carrying on the bit). Someone being unsporty doesn’t mean they wouldn’t know that. That’s just sports fans thinking other people are stupid. There are so many clues to the fact that it was intended, such as choosing the team that would most trigger Alan rather than the one that had recently been dominant. Everyone knows how partisan and stupid football fans are about their teams.

@@anthonypaparo She's a professional poker player and an incredibly intelligent person. She knew exactly what she was doing. She didn't get him a ticket for the best team, she got him a ticket for the team he hates and just to rub it in she claimed it's the best team.

Victoria’s ticket voucher also deserves to be in a Taskmaster best moments video. For me, it rivals Rod tying Alex to the chair and Liza making Alex sit on a cake.
However, I do feel kind of bad for Victoria. She legitimately thought that Allen would find those tickets to be a “treat,” so I’m sure that her feelings were hurt.

I have watched the Victoria Ticket task more times than I can count and I'm *still* not sure if she thought it was a good gift.

I love Victoria. It was unbelievably unjust that she didn’t get 5 points for what was arguably the best and funniest prize task entry in the history of the show. I listened to the podcast and she genuinely meant well. It shows her naivety because she meant from 1992 onwards. As mentioned on QI by Sandi Toksvig and football will know that Arsenal are the most successful team overall in English football with both Men an Women have won 93 major honours. Liverpool are in second place with 69. United in third with 67.

Series 10 is up there as one of if not the funniest season.
Few things in Taskmaster are more painfully cringe than Mel Giedroyc bringing in terrible prizes and trying her absolute hardest to sell it while literally nobody reacts positively, doing the voices for the stuffed peas while Greg contemplated giving her negative points is the worst one

She's probably not much of a sports fan. She assumed that he would want to go see what she thought was the best team in soccer because she didn't realize how rivalries and team loyalty works in sport. She seems to have genuinely meant well and seemed legitimately surprised when he wasn't pleased by it.
She's not a sports fan but she's also not an idiot. She's knows that when someone loves a sports team enough, then it borders on irrational. If she actually meant well, she would have spent the money on the correct team.

PLEASE put up videos of every break intermission/return from ad break from each season!! Those moments contain so many laughs, such as LAH learning to make the sound of an African Elephant!!
Those moments being cut out from episodes on Taskmaster Supermax feels like a huge blow!!
