First of all that hollow section it's mild steel when u keep it covered with sand and cement 100% it will get rusting.
Because they didn't paint hollow section to avoid rusting n we have specific paint which is used as undercoat to prevent rusting accordingly.
u rgt..dey have to first paint it....but dey will do it may be after..
That's the first step before doing anything bro

Ibrah, I challenge you to bring those guys to explain the effects of using Akaliro instead of bolts and nuts; you will be surprised to notice how you are promoting work that will result in many deaths.
Are you thinking about Geographical effects Uganda is sitting on before you construct these buildings? A ring beam must be of importance, to hold the building if Earth Quake is shaking the ground. Metals attract the magnitude forces underground. So be aware when you plan.

As an engineer, i strongly discourage this kind of structural constuction, the steel beams used in this case are of a very low grade and cannot last anything more than 5 yrs without collapsing. Use steel re-enforced concrete beams instead. Here you save but your house wont last. This type of construction cannot be approved by any competent authority.
Better still they can use waffles much stronger than these steel
Bro you could be right, but steel structures are effective, there are many grades of steel for different Ultimate design loads, the structural Eng has to be good to consider all factors at play in modal analysis or Seismic design

If one had already started a room, not planning to have a storeyed building, can one turn it into a storeyed building without have to dig a deeper foundation, without having to break down the original room? Thank you.
Firstly, one may like to know the materials used in the walling. If clay bricks,is it 9'x9' or 6' thick wall? Is it a concrete block Wall, what's the workmanship and the strength of the bonding mortar for the the bricks?. The other thing is, how big is the coverage of the new floor u want to add such that we know the weight to be carried ?. Therefore I think according to the question, someone can only give comprehensive response if carries out reconnaissance survey/visit on your site.
