Thanks Larry, for letting our man Ben have a look at these absolutely stunning coins, and to Ben as well for showing them to us. Just marvelous coins. Wow!!
Incredibly beautiful coins. Glad you explained the lines on the 1796 50C. A lot of collectors would not have recognized those lines as adjustment lines for the weight of the coin. Thanks Ben.
That proof $20 Liberty is so beautiful. It's still my favorite U.S. coin. It's one thing to see images of the coins but to see them in motion like this is a rare treat. Thank you both for sharing these!
Very nice! I miss Larry showing his US type coins. Was a big inspiration for me to attempt a 20th and 19th century proof type set. Anyhow, amazing coins Ben, none of which are close to obtainable in the middle to advanced numismatist. These coins are all wealthy only items. However, I’m not hating on that, I commend those who can afford it and appreciate seeing videos like that for those who can’t! Have a Happy 4th gents!
Американские монеты - это из-за одни из самых романтических монет мира! Сразу вспоминаешь золотую лихорадку Калифорнии, Клондайка, ну и конечно затонувший пароход "Центральная Америка" 1857 года!
I'm 65 and been a coin collector 54 years . My 2 best coins are a 1820 dime VF35 and a 1834 VF25 that I won in a high school poker game in the late 70s . My parents had their honeymoon in Reno in 1948 and purchased the CC Morgan silver dollar set . Now the story goes my mother sold the set to her workmate in the sugar company office , around 1960 for face value . I was 2 years old lol . When mom would take me to coin shops in the 70s , she told the owners her story . Not as glorious as items in this video but are tops on my chart
These are the stuff that dreams are made of. Absolutely stunning! It's astonishing that these coins made it to 2024 in such an incredible condition. Thank you for sharing!
WOW !!! Ben, kinda like the day I brought in some Morgans and a 1792 Cropped Bust , etc... how stoked, & excited I was holding your coins ($5K - $10K) that you actually retrieved from your safe to show me the difference between the reeded edges. Also, you do realize that you're holding like $6 - $8 million dollars in just a few of those wonderful treasures. A BIG MAHALO to Stacks & Bowers, and especially the Larry dude 🇺🇸🪙🤙🌵🏄🦘🎨
Ben, it's hard to put into words how amazing all of these coins are, I do love those 2 x pattern Morgans, one in copper which I have never seen before and the reverse of it is phenomenal. Keep up the great work, both of these recent videos on coins we never get to see were just great. Cheers
Greatly enjoyed this video. Several years ago a friend of mine's friend gave me the opportunity to handle such coins.. Like the 1792 dime and half dime; 1794 Dollar and a 1/2 dollar, among others. It was one of the coin high points of my life, As this may have been for you.
Thanks. The .50 cent mini Morgan pattern coin, and the matte finish $20 gold were probably my favorites, but all very interesting and of course it would be amazing to own any of those unique coins.
That morgan pattern coin is cool. I like the reverse more than the obverse. And a half dollar morgan that's fun. All these coins are incredible! Thanks for sharing these with us. Super nice fellow.
Hi Ben. That 1792 Half Dime looks like it was lacquered at one time. Lacquer was used to protect the coin in the past. The three early 1800s Half Eagles are very cool. The 1830 in 66 is amazing. The 5D/o is neat. I like the 1796 half-dollar. PCGS lists the price at $275,000. 👀BOING! The 1900 Double Eagle with a cameo finish is beautiful. The 1908 St. Gaudens Double Eagle with a matte finish is amazing. It is my fav coin of all the coins you showed. I wouldn't pay any more than face for that gold bar. The 1877 Morgan Half-Dollar pattern is very cool. As you said about the Double Eagle St., the copper Morgan looks like a modern bullion round. I like the toning on the copper. The silver pattern is cool. The 1848 "Cal" Quarter Eagle is sweet. Some say that it is the first US commemorative. It looks to have a slight cameo. Nice! 68* is crazy. The Matte St. would be my single coin pick. Thanks for showing those great coins.
The 1848 Cal. Quarter Eagle is technically the first U.S. Commemorative Coin ever produced. What an amazing piece (looking for a spare $500,000 to toss at it).
Man you’re right Ben.. it would be sooo tough to pick just one if price wasn’t an object. I like that Matte finish gold or those patterns are super cool
Super well done as usual Ben. I like how you kept the views and the background very objective with a subject that's easy to become very subjective. At the end of the day, market forces are what they are. While most of us have our personal views, none of us are larger than the market and the view and opinion it beholds. The market always has the last word. I think this piece did a great job of respectfully reminding people that there's forces out there larger than any of us. Blake (SCMG).
@@TheCoinGeek Hey Ben, I meant that comment to go with the John Albanese interview. With this kind of precision, you'd think I'm an IT guy or something...haha...
Wow Ben cool as cucumber handling those coins while I'm over here on the verge of cardiac arrest seeing some of those coins... wow amazing content what treat that was watching this video very impressed
Greetings Ben and Larry - All of these coins are the UULTIMATE - CAT'S MEOW !!!!!!!! While I was watching this I kept thinking - Ben be careful you are going to scratch the slabs holding them together - LOL - This is why I love the Slab Lab type videos. Choosing one coin from this group would be difficult - So Ben aren't you going to buy just one of them? Best wishes and thanks Larry - an exciting 2 minutes
Awesome vid and coins! But that 68* Cal gold piece has a couple pretty obvious pin-like scratches running horizontal across the cheek….the lofty 68 therefore seems way out of bounds. Wow that ingot is outrageously cool.
@@okgroomer1966 Ben was talking about the extensive die polish lines in the fields NOT the couple of pin-like scratches running parallel on the cheek … the die polish is a normal part of the die prep … but the cheek scratches qualify as marks that should limit the grade. 7:45....how's that not a cleaned coin??? I realize we're dealing with a very soft metal, but that looks very cleaned to me? Then again, what the heck do I know....😁??
Beautiful coins no dout about it ...But the 48 d looks a little scrathed not the polish lines but librtys cheek and the right feild is scratched from left to right id say it looks slightly polished too but guess it got overlooked/ bias for it rarity...
I don’t have any of those in my collection.
Me either.
Hi Clarence Scherich! I have one of the draped bust coins, but it's no where near that condition! Beautiful! 😎
Yeah, most people don't ever even get to see them much less own them...
because the first coin shown was a half million dollar coin, lol
Не расстраивайся, зато есть к чему стремиться!
Thanks for geeking out over some cool coins with me Ben!

Thanks, Larry.
Thanks Larry. I hope someday you can pop back into your old channel and share with us some progress on your personal collections
Larry! Make some more type coin videos! I miss them! Ha
Hi Larry Stendebach! Yes, beautiful coins! 😎I've got some nice Morgans, but nothing like these coins!
Beautiful coins. Thanks for sharing them with us Ben and thank you to Larry as well - he’s a blast!

Obviously a breathtaking set of coins but what struck me was your outstanding commentary.

Odd on the 1792 Half Dime the "F" is different as to the Obv. and Rev. Love it.
Beautiful pieces of history. Thanks for showing them to appreciate.
Oh, the toning on that gold ingot! I would love to have that, though perhaps something smaller.
Some of the saddle ridge twenty’s were not conserved. Real treasure.

So it's a mint produced coin? I thought the cal fractionals were privately done.
For that 68star grade, it’s closer to the seven figure mark I’d say.
no it's not privately minted@@okgroomer1966

Be, another excellent video.
All I can say is WOW!!!!!
There's also a Judd1512, the reverse was engraved by Charles Barber
This is amazing
