Good for picking practice, intermediate level rhythmic difficulties with some sliding technique also on practice. Transcription was easy enough but there's some part where bass i difficult to hear. Probably i made some mistakes because of that. Let me know if you have any question. I'll answer. Song is in E Natural Minor (if you consider the main parts, but B Phrigian is an option) with some modal interchange chords: i Em (E G B) or Em7 (E G B D) ii F#dim (F# A C) III G (G B D) iv Am (A C E) v Bm (B D F#) VI C (C E G) #vi7 C#m7 (C# E G# B) VI borrowed from E Major, modal interchange VII D (D F# A)
I have basic theory understanding, but currently struggle to understand all the different chords and how bass lines relate to them (noticing you always put the song chord structure in the comment section); could you recommend some resources where I could study this, or at least what to focus in order to understand the mental process behind the bass lines? And how may I use this knowledge? What is the purpose of writing the chord structure of every song? Sorry for the very broad question!
CoverSolutions will you ever accept donations because I can’t pay every month but I would rather drop like $30 dollars for one song. Is that possible or no
@@ObviouslyNotItalian Interesting. I recommed you to study about harmony to understand all of that, maybe with Levine's jazz theory book or some other well known method (or with a teacher of course). The deal is understanding on what harmonic frame you are so you know what function accomplishes the notes you play. So it's a big deal. You can also learn to improvise with this knowledge
@@zeldaenjoyer3103 It's doesn't work like that. You pay to support his whole work. You don't "drop like $30 for one song". It's not a "pay to request a song" type of deal.
I believe that this was recorded originally with a Stingray tuned F# B E A and flanger instead of chorus. Whilst Steven did use chorus a lot, he also had 2 flangers. One being set to be more subtle like the original recording.
I don't know this song but I'm working my way through your covers and Israel is my ancestral and literal current home so it caught my eye. I'm delighted to see this has such a beginner-friendly bassline! I'm buying my first bass soon and will definitely be adding this one to my journey milestones!

It's not a particularly intricate bass line, but it's one of the best sounding bass lines ever.
post-punk has the best baselines
Period
PUNK. God damn it. I can't stand the new 1000 genres so every band gets there own.

This is one of the most badass bass lines. This and anything Simon Gallup especially the 17 seconds/faith era.
Good job.
