The Lili Violette pattern is so cute. It's a lot bigger than I thought. Your "smalls" bag is beautful!
Thank you! The Lilli Violette was bigger than I pictured when I bought the pattern. I’m terrible about realizing how big or small a pattern is unless I look at the stitch count.
Kathleen your fabric dying is beautiful. Nice colors. The tote bag is awesome, I would love to be the recipient of it. Have a great time at the retreat next week!
Thank you!
Me too... I like winter more than hot summers! Love your bag finish! Look forward to hearing about your retreat!
Thank you! My table gave me a hard time about the tote bag not being small, but the recipient seemed to like it!
Hi Kathleen! I really like the marigold fabric you dyed! Those La D Da pieces might look really good on it. Looking forward to seeing you next week! Yes, Jane and Chris are coming! The bag you made for the smalls exchange is beautiful!!!
I hadn’t considered the marigold fabric for the La D Da. I’m going to add it to the possibilities!
Hi Kathleen! I've been a fan from your very first Flosstube! Your totebag is fab! Don't know if I could part with it, it's so wonderful. Re Something Wicked and Toil and Trouble: whatever fabric you choose to stitch them on, you should do two separate works but frame them the same. Double the work and expense, but having two pictorials in one frame would not be as nice looking as having each of them stand alone, IMHO. Hanging them one under the other would be best since they are landscape aspect. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you so much for watching! I’m thinking I’ll do them as two pieces. They aren’t terribly big, but I like the image I get of hanging them one above the other like you mentioned.
That is an awesome finish! I would love to get that in an exchange!!
Thank you! The recipient seemed to like it. My table mates told me it was not a “small” even if the pattern was for a pin cushion. Oh well.
Hi Kathleen, I can understand how awful your sticky weather is since I have lived on Florida all my life. The tote bag is very beautiful - those colors are awesome. I would love to follow you to that retreat in hopes to exchange gifts - ha, ha The little girls from Lilli Violette are adorable (love DMC but recently purchased 30 spools of silk 100 3). Your fabric dying is so inspiring, congratulations you have out done yourself! The project bags are also great, I have yet to buy one because of the cost. I buy pretty notebook sleeves from Amazon that serve the purpose and run around $10-$15. Hope you have a great time on both trips
If you’re in Florida, it’s definitely hotter and stickier for you! I couldn’t do it. I grumble and whine all summer here unless we get a breeze and break in the humidity. I haven’t tried the silk 100 3s yet. What count fabric do you usually use? I do love stitching with silk!
@@snickerdoodlestitch2146 Good morning ! I shop in the early morning or after 8pm during the summer - live in A/C almost all year. I stitch with 36 or 40 ct and found challenging until I purchased a floor magnifier/lamp, loving it !
I loved seeing your hand dyed fabrics! I've done it a little bit myself, it's so fun. I have an opinion on which fabric I think would look good for the witch boot and nose. I LOVED the blue ish hand dyed you did that had the dark spots on it that made you crazy!😆 So appropriate! See you at "Wild"!
Can’t wait to see you! I’m leaning toward the blue fabric. I got a little carried away with the fabric dying, and my kitchen was a disaster for a couple weeks, but it was fun! Definitely learned a lot.
I'm envious of you traveling to Sitka. I lived in Juneau, then Anchorage for almost all of my life, moving to the extreme heat and humidity of the south. I want to move back, and we will. Anyhow, do you have the special corner Q snap clamp for the Lowery? It may alleviate some of the problem.
Oh, I can’t imagine moving somewhere humid. Even growing up with it, it’s a beast to get through summer. I’m so looking forward to the much cooler weather in Alaska. It would be fun to live there for a time, I think.
Could you backstitch nose in a brown??
I’ll be waiting to see what you decide.
I like that idea. I think it would definitely work if I use the green fabric. Thank you!
