The sad thing is my German Shepard died last year of old age. Now we only have my little dog to bark and scare things . That’s why we’re getting another Dog. A bigger one like a Great Dane or another German Shepard. We’re also moving and we don’t know if the neighborhood is safe yet. My German Shepard would always sleep by my door, waking up to every little sound the cats would make and making sure it wasn’t anything that could harm me.

My old dog named Murphys was my best friend. She would've probably done anything to save me or my family members lives. One night when I was a baby (my parents told me with story) I was upstairs sleeping in my parents room with my mom. My dad was coming home from day shift so it was around midnight. My dad somehow forgot the key to our house when he left, so he had to into the side door to our house which had a code on the door. When he came into the house Murphys just stood at the top of the stairs growling aggressively at him. As soon as she realized it was my dad she calmed down. But I know that if it wasn't my dad and IT was a robber, that she would definitely do everything in her power to save us

A sincere message to all the people worrying about if their doggies will protect them in such situations: you guys- YES. The thing is with these animals, that they can sense danger, way better than people, and if they do, they can kill to protect those they love. As a bit of a dummy who has gotten myself into trouble more than a few times (and with like minded friends), dogs that may otherwise be considered useless in such situations have pretty much saved our asses, a few being: My cousin's golden retriever (that is more my dog than his but that's another story), my friend's husky that is so damn stubborn but a silly little thing, my neighbour's German shepherd (I know they're normally trained as guard dogs but this one surprised me tbh) that basically saved my brother from being kidnapped when he was just a baby, my bf's doberman (even though I was a little wary of this creature..and still sort of am even though I love him to bits now) continues to save my behind till this day! SO thankfully, you guys haven't been in any real danger, and I honestly pray you don't encounter it, but if you should (God forbid) you would be surprised the lengths that those fuzzy guys would go to ensure your safety

I decided to hold my breath for about 30 seconds while she was on my stomach. She took about 10 seconds to react, but once she did, she went insane: screeching, pouncing on me, howling, until my mum came running in to see what was wrong. My old dog named Murphys was my best friend. She would've probably done anything to save me or my family members lives. One night when I was a baby (my parents told me with story) I was upstairs sleeping in my parents room with my mom. My dad was coming home from day shift so it was around midnight. My dad somehow forgot the key to our house when he left, so he had to into the side door to our house which had a code on the door. When he came into the house Murphys just stood at the top of the stairs growling aggressively at him. As soon as she realized it was my dad she calmed down. But I know that if it wasn't my dad and IT was a robber, that she would definitely do everything in her power to save us

A sincere message to all the people worrying about if their doggies will protect them in such situations: you guys- YES. The thing is with these animals, that they can sense danger, way better than people, and if they do, they can kill to protect those they love. As a bit of a dummy who has gotten myself into trouble more than a few times (and with like minded friends), dogs that may otherwise be considered useless in such situations have pretty much saved our asses, a few being: My cousin's golden retriever (that is more my dog than his but that's another story), my friend's husky that is so damn stubborn but a silly little thing, my neighbour's German shepherd (I know they're normally trained as guard dogs but this one surprised me tbh) that basically saved my brother from being kidnapped when he was just a baby, my bf's doberman (even though I was a little wary of this creature..and still sort of am even though I love him to bits now) continues to save my behind till this day! SO thankfully, you guys haven't been in any real danger, and I honestly pray you don't encounter it, but if you should (God forbid) you would be surprised the lengths that those fuzzy guys would go to ensure your safety
