was this done pre-1.0.3? I've been stuck on this boss for a while and can't seem to find a build that can net me a clear without running out of ammo.

Nope, this build would be overweight pre patch 1.0.3. If ammo is an issue, you might wanna bring a blade like a pile or the good old pulse blade. The coral oscillator is my melee of choice here especially for the first part because sometimes you can wipe all the Grunt ACs in once swing 😁
