As I’ve commented in the past about this beautiful movie adaptation that resonates the loss of my 1st love due to family obligations and expectations, I too would wait a thousand years if I knew I had an opportunity to a better outcome.
Jane Austen was so in tune and ahead of her time. Love and our expectations of same have never changed over the years. This story is over 303 years old.. Wonderful story and adaptation. I was crying with her when she read the letter in tears having thought Wentworth was marrying Louisa! Great acting Sally Hawkins. X

Usually Austen fans flock towards Pride and Prejudice but for me, this is by far the best. Although, I must confess that it's mainly because I relate to the story. At 15 I met my first love, an older boy who was 19, a sweet, kind boy who honestly respected me and told me he loved me. My parents found out and given the fact that I was not even allowed to date yet let alone someone older I was forced to end it and never speak to him again, he was even willing to speak to my father but given my father's temper that would have made things worse so out of sheer fear I begged him not to and that it was over.. That was 12 years ago. I am now Anne's age, have never been in love again, have never even really been in another relationship again, and am also terrified that I am meant for spinsterhood. But anyway, my grandfather passed a few months ago and HE came to the funeral. He's now divorced with 2 kids. For the record... it was NOT like in the movies, It was incredibly awkward and could barely come up with anything to say to him and turned as red as a tomato! We did not exchange info or anything and sadly that was it :(
Losing a soulmate to time is more painful... because there is no closure. And youre left with a lingering pain or longing you feel on the backside of your heart...right up against your spine. You are in different places. I pray your heart heals and hopes again.
@@gndoumit Thank you, I've healed from that though there is still regret in my heart for not having fought for someone who genuinely cared for me, because later on I fell for someone younger who told me that even though he had feelings for me he wasn't ready for another relationship right now, only to turn around and be ready just 2 months later but with someone else from our own work place. Now THAT nearly destroyed me. It didn't workout between them anyway, but the feeling of rejection, betrayal, self esteem on the floor, That was last year but it hurt me so deeply, I'm still trying to move on. I'm in my 30s now and have yet to find that one person who feels the same about me as I feel about them. Those of you who have that in your life.... Be grateful.
Really nice editing job and perfect piece of music. Love this version of Persuasion. Sally Hawkins is sublime as Anne...and Rupert...well...what's not to like.

Good morning out of all the novels of JA Persuasion is my favorite this adaptation is superb ( although I wish Anne's hair was looser Andrew Davies is superb at putting a well known adaptation with a twist Captain Wentworth gifting Anne her childhood home I cried when I first saw this scene ( when I was 10 I was placed in Foster care when I returned to my hometown my childhood home had been auctioned off as well as the majority of items inside of home I cried with joy that Captain Wentworth gifted Anne with her hearts desire ( as he himself is a gift) thank you for doing a lovely job with this video / song
I have watched many, many Austen tributes in my life, but this one is by far my absolute favorite. Your editing is superb (I love especially how you matched the pivotal points of the movie with the phrase "one step closer"), and the song choice was perfect. Five stars!! And thank you! :-)

I have yet to find a written piece that moves me as much as Captain Wentworth's letter to Anne. Also, this movie, I loved the costumes even more than Pride and Prejudice. I loved most of Anne's outfits.
...here is my story...my first boyfriend from age 16 to 19 split...after 35 years at my father’s funeral we met again...he was in a relationship and my husband and I are very happy...we became friends...really good friends...we visit each other...and stay in contact...it is lovely !
I always wish before the kiss she called him Frederick and he called her Anne you can get the DVD off EBay bought my copy several months ago watched it loads since love it❤❤

I love this story, it's my favorite, cause' it's my real story...but without the happy ending. My captain Wentworth doesn't love me anymore...well, it's nice to read a happy ending after all... XD
Also! The way he looks at her when she runs happily towards their new home in the end is adorable. They did have some good chemistry on set but not enough in my opinion. The captain character, how handsome and dreamy he may have been, seemed a bit too moody sometimes which isn't how I thought of him based from the book. And other times he was simply super obssessed with looking at Anne. I found him a bit more discrete regarding that in the book. I guess the director wanted to sugar coate everything, make it more romantic.
