We just found your channel yesterday and subbed. My wife and I love your how-to videos because we are working toward a move to the west virginia mountains and starting a homestead. We want to be self-sufficient. Our daughter (8) LOVES your animal videos. Especially the pigs. She has named them Salt & Peppa Pig 😄. Thank you for what you are doing and for being an inspiration to at least one family (ours)!

Thank you for the kind words, these comments are the reason we decided to film our journey, to help show people you can do this even with no experience. Thanks again

They are going to out grow that quick, to the point they will not be able to turn around in it. Its still made of metal which will be cold in the winter. It would have been better if you lined it with OSB and made it twice the size.

Thanks for the tips! There slower growing pigs so if this works for this winter that will make me happy and can always repurpose it for other animals. We will have bigger straw lining the hut that should help and make where there not on the metal. For feeder pigs I agree this might outgrow them quick.

I would have used treated lumber. Are the bottom boards rotted yet?

I've used that design for chickens but I think pigs will tear it up.

Our bigs seem to do a little better, not as aggressive

Are they keeping warm? My pigs are about the same size and I'm also in Michigan. I am so worried about them staying warm enough especially with this big storm coming! They have a while little shed to themselves filled with straw and an outside run. But they are our first livestock addition so I'm probably needlessly worried lol

They have done great, even during the big storm we just had!

No I wouldn’t not, we actually did a video making a new one because it started to get small for them
