Great question! Customers wouldn't care about technical tasks. They are going to care about user stories that add business value. The video speaks to how to manage work once the business has prioritized it.
Harsha Sree - you can apply Kanban principles to any process that takes steps to deliver value! There is a movement called Personal Kanban that applies these principles to your personal work!
Currently we do not use Kanban to manage our recruitment activities. However, we do use it to manage our corporate activities! I would suggest mapping out each step in the workflow a candidate goes through in your recruiting process. Provide visibility into what stage every candidate is in. This will provide insight into your work in progress (WIP). Once you understand your WIP you can start discussing ways to managing it. This will probably include placing WIP limits.
Loved the video! Very clear and great graphics :) Would love to see some real life case studies on how teams have adopted Kanban (not limited to Software development) to manage BAU work or project work..
Im curious if you guys use kanban to manage your recruitment efforts. If yes, i would love to have a conversation about it and if no, i would still be interested in a conversation about how to use the scrum/kanban methodoligies for the recruitment/hiring process.
Video is very informative , but the background is so disturbing , its not letting to concentrate on lecture.... Background pitch is higher than voice over.
This is a great video and really well executed, but I don't like the criticism of Scrum. This video would be better if it just talked about the great stuff and eliminated the criticisms. Long before I ever heard of Kanban, my scrum teams were visualizing flow. Later, when Kanban became hot, people kept pointing at our board and saying it was a Kanban board. Ok. Whatever. It was our scrum board. We also focused on closing work throughout the sprint, not at the end in a single batch. We even graphed story points being marked "done" to prove we didn't close everything at the end. I really like the video and would have used it with my teams who were curious about Kanban, but I can't support the criticism of Scrum. Remove that and this video would raise to the next level.
Why do you have this constant, annoying "music" in the background? It does not make your video any more interesting, and it is really annoying. I really have to wonder what you think it adds to the presentation.

the Daily Scrum IS NOT a status meeting!!!
We agree. If we had to do it over again we would have said "Daily Planning Meeting." We hope the video was helpful for you!
Can we apply Kanban board in a trap house?
