I adored this show, and owned all the toys. Such a bummer, I wish we could get more of this show. Hell, I'd settle for a Blu-Ray release of the series.
Unsure if true, but heard Garrett never got an action figure for the stupid reason that his wheelchair would not fit in the Ecto-1 toy. Not the insensitivity reason they listed.
I had all four Busters in the line; Eduardo, Roland, Kylie... and Egon. I remember being kinda excited about Garrett, thinking "this'll be an interesting figure"... then got really confused when they rolled Egon out. Don't get me wrong, I love Egon, but I felt he was out of place here. Maybe to be released in series 2, but to have him and not Garrett felt way off. That, and their proton packs were "Extremely" weird, to fit all the gadgets for light and sound... one little bulb and some horrific noise.

@@kevlarvest7375 Sorry I got them from a seller on Ebay a couple months ago! I'm not sure if he made any more or just this one time set as he said it took a laber of love and years to achieve this! Since Trends Masters never did this. The custom Garrett that I have looks more like the cartoon then the unreleased prototype shown in photos. 👻🚫❤🙏
I remembered calling trendmasters asking for a Garrett figure back in the day and the rep said they were working on it. Disappointing that they never made him.
@@RoosterMontgomery They sure were! I recently got the complete custom made Exterme Ghostbusters with the Real Ghostbusters including Garrett in his wheel chair action figures made to look like how they did on the show set all sealed and mint on card! I'm happy!!🤗🙏👍👻
I remember these show when I was a kid I was disappointed how it got cancelled it should have gotten a s2 or a animated movie at least I would have rather seen this for ghostbusters 2016 over what we actually got in 2016

I was in Highschool when Extreme Ghostbusters was airing on some network at like 5am and I used to get up to set my VCR for it. The show was really ahead of it's time and deserves an animated feature or at least a new run of comic books!
That's the thing about animated series that have toy lines attached them. In the 80s, they were a lot of them, and some parents were pissed that their kids were bugging them to buy toys based on a kid's show, not matter how well written it was.
Sad, but not surprising. That WAS the driving factor behind most kids cartoons in the 80's and 90's. Plus, the show didn't do well because it was constantly on at bad times, and its time slot kept getting moved. It was incredibly difficult to watch.
Of course; the toys. Duh. I was sad to see it go so soon, but I'm glad it happened. Hey Sony, I know you lurk around this channel. Make a Blu-ray box set of the EGB already.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe a lot of animated series produced were soley produced to hawk merchandise, as that's where the money was to be made. But truly, I really loved this iteration of the ghostbusters!
See I'm the opposite from other people. I did watch this show and after maybe 3 or 4 shows I lost interest. To me it was not that great. Yes they say it was the merch but maybe it was a little bit more than just the toys. Maybe I am wrong but that is how I felt and my opinion at the time.
I watched every single episode of this show as it aired - such a bummer to hear this. The toys really were not great (even though I have a soft spot for them in some ways and it was glorious to have Ghostbusters back on store shelves) and the exclusion of Garret was a total travesty. Such a missed opportunity especially given how well done the show was.
Makes sense. There's a really good UA-cam video on here about the history of the original TMNT cartoon and pretty much boiled down to the same reasons. The toys didn't exist cause of the show, the show existed cause of the toys.
The toys weren't that bad, I think they were just too cartoony-looking for what the animation was giving us. That and some bad design choices (like Garrett and the proton packs). Wasn't a fan of the head sculpts either, except Eduardo.
I liked the show. I didn't like the design of the new proton packs. It looked too bulky and plain. And they made the neutrona wand into a gun shaped blaster.
It honestly would not surprise me if low ratings played a factor in the cancelation of Extreme Ghostbusters. According to various articles I have read across the Ghostbusters fan run websites since the late 1990's Sony Pictures choose to air the show on weekdays prior to children attending school. This really hurt the chances of the show making decent enough ratings to earn a renewal. If they had put the show on Saturday Mornings like The Real Ghostbusters, I am sure it would have stood a better chance. That said, I am glad that an alternate version of Kylie Griffin appears in the IDW Ghostbusters comic books and I am glad that EGB's did properly turn up as well.
@@user-si9fx4xb6vt wasn't Sony Pictures TV (then Columbia/TriStar TV), but the independent TV networks that weren't ABC, CBS or NBC and didn't have local morning news programs (yet) that aired EGB around 6am-9am.

I loved the extreme Ghostbusters cause I think that show definitely deserve better cause it's the best show ever! And I love how it's like a Disney show but with the extreme Ghostbusters cartoon vibe in it!

I was never a fan of the Trendmasters Extreme Ghostbusters toy line, but the show shouldn't have had to suffer because of the toy sales.

I absolutely gobbled up all the toys from extreme ghostbusters. Such a bummer. If there were more, I would have gotten them!

The toys weren't very good, at least compared to the Original ones. Too many stupid designs. Just make them look like they do on the show
