- I don't know what this is or where it came from.
I just know that I've been fixated on this song for a while now and it fitted them quite perfectly.
So here's to some nostalgia-time.
Also SV has been a gigantic pain in my ass lately and this was one of the few unfinished projects it would let me work on without shutting down every ten seconds. Heh.

If their love was purely deep friendship the entire six seasons wouldn’t have been revolving around their jealousy and pain whenever one of them was with someone else. They clearly loved each other on every level. The writers just messed up bad and tried to convince us something different within one episode. I cannot imagine a scenario where Pacey and Joey have their happy ending and Dawson doesn’t somehow get in the way of that. Joey and Dawson will always put each other first we have proof of that a million times over. There’s even a scene in the show where the group, including Pacey talk about the fact that if you get between Joey and Dawson you’re road kill. Just saying. Most unforgivable ending of a show in my opinion. Completely went against itself just to shock the viewers. The writers have even admitted that they had always planned for Joey & Dawson to end up together and had even written an ending where they do before they changed their mind at the last second. So it doesn’t ring true for me.
Disagree. In episode 6×23 when Pacey lost Dawson's money in the stock market and went broke and they had their last epic fight, Joey went to Pacey not Dawson. When Pacey stopped feeling sorry for himself and went around town hustling money to repay Dawson, he asked Joey to give Dawson the money she collected. She said she could but she won't. She removed herself from the love triangle and realized it wasn't her responsibility to fix Pacey and Joey's friendship. She let them go, tricked them into meeting up with one another at the ruins to work things out, and finally went on her dream trip to Paris. That was the moment she stopped letting her relationship with Dawson controlled her relationship. Yes, Dawson is her soulmate and childhood love but Pacey is the love of her life and where her present and future lies. And in the final episode, Dawson smiled seeing Pacey and Joey together at his mother's wedding to her plot device husband. At some point in your life, you accept certain relationships aren't meant to be and move on. Kevin the creator wanted Dawson and Joey together but when he saw the chemistry between Joey and Katie, he knew Pacey was the right choice for Joey and James, Josh, and Katie all agreed with the choice.
In some ways I agree with you about Dawson and Joey but the popular character of Pacey and his coupling with Joey won out particularly because Joshua and also Katie told the producers that they wanted it to their characters to end up together at the end. Interesting that they had to have this. With James I don't feel he strongly believe either way so would be ok with whatever decision. I never got to think that James felt passionate about his character in the way Joshua did especially as he needed for Pacey to be the one that got the girl.
The thing is despite what some will say, it still would have made as perfect sense if it had gone the other way with it being Dawson and Joey.
I think if as a writer and you have a vision and then is persuaded to change your mind then you were never had total belief of your story. Plus let's be honest, when it comes to tv shows most of the time it's the unplanned couple and the second male lead that wins out because the audience never like to be told who to root for. Plus Pacey had the bad boy with the big heart whose life was tough compared to Dawson's so ultimately he deserved to win the prize of Joey's love!

I just discovered this tv series about a month ago I watched all six seasons and enjoyed it I was disappoint though with the ending I felt like joey and dawson should have ended up together I know joey loved pacey also but I feel there was a closer bond between joey and dawson
As a Pacey and Joey fan I usually don't watch Dawson and Joey videos, but I clicked on this, and it was beautiful! Perfect song choice too! I didn't realize how much this song fit them until I watched this video.

Dawson's Creek broke my heart when these two didn't end up together...it made me so guarded towards loving another tv couple...but being older now and really thinking of their journey..Dawson was right. It doesn't matter who ended up with who because no one would ever have the special love that Dawson and Joey shared. I still think that they would've eventually found their way back to each other. but your video just highlights why they were so unique. thank you for allowing me to be nostalgic :) beautiful video!!!

Yep, Joey picked the wrong guy. I feel sorry for Dawson, he lost his two loves (Joey and Jen) and his best friend (Pacey). The show is so dramatic for him.

Soon as Pacey kissed Joey I stopped watching. I'm sorry Dawson and Joey are like one of my favorite couple. They had more history.

I almost didnt watch this because I only really half watched Dawsons Creek the first time it was on TV. I was just a tiny bit too young to be old enough to get it. I'm so glad I watched this though! It's so beautiful! This version of this song is so pretty and I love all the voiceovers you used. The one about him waiting to find someone he loved as much as her broke my heart!! Reminded me that I should really watch this show again as an adult. Gorgeous editing, with all the slow fades. Loved it!
And just why couldn't it have been Dawson & Joey ending up together in the show? Dawson will never find any other girl who he will love as much as he loved Joey. Joey is the only girl he loves because the fact is that Joey is his soulmate and Joey is the only girl Dawson can ever love.

@@az21bob666 The answer to your question was given by Joey to Pacey. She told Pacey that even though she is with him, there is a part of her that will always belong to Dawson. And even Pacey said that no matter how much he loves her, he will still never be able to have her fully because there is a part of her that is for Dawson and will always belong to him. So the same will go for Dawson and his wife or any girl he is with. A part of him will always belong to Joey.
pacey will deal with dawson in joey life,
BUT how many women will deal with there boyfriend or wife being best freind with joey, and being that close
@@az21bob666 If they're alright with what Dawson has for Joey in him, then there will be no problems. But if they can't accept it, and have a problem, then Dawson will most probably end the relationship with his wife so that he can continue having what he has for Joey within him, and also be free to continue to be there for Joey as her soulmate.

I love the edit even though I don't ship joey and dawson I more of a s Joey and Pacey shipper. But I love how they were each other's soulmates just not the love of Joey's life that they still have a special place in their hearts for each other forever.

I tottally agree, we were robbed out of the right ending. I don't understand why the writer changed his mind. he said it was always going to be a Dawson and Joey ending until he started to shot it? i very feel fobbed too. i loved Pacey! he was an amazing character! he made the show funny! he has trouble family. he also had a woman that he should have ended up with too! Andy! yes she mess up! years ago! they were right for each other. and it was years ago! Andy and Pecey should have been ending together! and Dawson and Joey should have been the ending

I'm sorry Dawson and Joey were not soulmates, at least not in a romantic sense. When this show first came out I was a teenager too, and in the beginning I thought they were so cute. Even after they stopped working as a couple in my opinion I still though they had that special, pure first love that nothing could take away from. However, now when I look back at it as an adult I think what Joey really felt for Dawson was much more infatuation than love. That's why she was never happy anytime they were really together because the real thing could never live up to the image she built in her mind. From the beginning Joey had this image in her mind that things with Dawson would be perfect so whenever things got real or hard she bailed. Pacey was actually Joey's first real love and even though I was not dead set on her ending up with Pacey, I was so glad she didn't end up with Dawson. It just would not have made any sense. If I had written the finale I actually wouldn't have had her end up with either one of them because I think that is what would have been most realistic, but I would much prefer she end up with Pacey than Dawson.
Which was actually what the real ending episode was originally! But then they brought in Kevin Williamson to write a "true" finale where he intended on ending the show with Dawson and Joey but in the end even he couldn't deny the chemistry between Joshua and Katie so he redirected the ending!

Huh? She was very much happy during the times that they were together. She even said to him herself once that he made her so happy and even if she hadn't said that it's still so blatantly obvious that he did. They made each other happy. I think what is was is Joey just loved Dawson TOO much. And it scared her which is why she was always running away from him. I mean think about it whenever her and Dawson got to a point where they were happy it was always Joey who started to pull away from him. It was easier to be with Pacey, or whoever. Because Joey is self reliant, and independent. She didn’t want to love someone as much as she loved Dawson. It bothered her. That’s why she overcomplicated it. She wouldn’t allow it to work. This couple is one of the most perfect and accurate portrayals of a Twin Flame relationship that I've ever seen.
Do you guy's remember this quote that Joey said in season 2? It goes and I quote "It was never about finding something better, Dawson. It was about finding someone who wasn't so close to me. So that I could tell where I ended and he began. In many ways, I feel like you've partially invented me, Dawson. And that scares me so much." I feel like this quote perfectly sums up what I just said. Her relationship with Dawson was too overwhelming for her which is why she was so resistant to it and never really let herself fully surrender to it, out of fear. And also why she would go for guys who "weren't so close to her" like Dawson was. Because it was easier for her that way. Not saying that she didn't truly love any of these guys just that she didn't love them in the way that she loved Dawson. And Dawson never loved any girl as much as he loved Joey either. Those two just had a very special bond that they could never have or replicate with anyone else but each other no matter how hard they tried.
