Brit Hume is the man we all think he is. In 1995 my brother born many years after me and raised solely Florida was living in an apartment down the street from Brit Hume in Georgetown, DC. My young brother found what he thought was a great place to park his jeep just around the corner from a busy city street as a huge snow storm was moving in. The next evening his jeep was underneath a mountain of plowed snow. Brit Hume saw my brother as he was struggling with a small shovel to remove the snow from his jeeps roof as he was walking home from work. Brit said he'd come back with his shovel to help him so thats exactly what he did. What a guy !
I always felt Britt could be trusted to DELIVER the news, plain & simple. Straight foreward, no fireworks or sensationalism. His balanced, deep voice gave me trust in what he said. A real credit to his profession. God is with us always. Ask & he will answer. It is good Britt asked & was answered.
I lost my younger sister way too soon & I honestly felt Jesus by my side when I felt that I would die of broken heart syndrome. He lifted me up & gave me courage to go on
Brit Hume is the embodiment of what a journalist is supposed to be, honest, with integrity. No longer true in this day and age..I did not know of his tragic loss.
My story is somewhat similar to Brit's. My son died in a car accident at age 23. The Lord was the only thing that brought me through that. My daughter has an alcohol problem. I never knew the power of that addiction. I have much more sympathy for people who are overpowered by it. Again, I turned to the Lord for help. He is faithful.
I lost my daughter 25 years ago in a car accident. She was 17. I couldn’t have gotten through it without my faith. It’s the worst thing to go through. So many things happened to keep me going. Miraculous things. Life is not perfect or smooth sailing. One can rest easy in the arms of Jesus!
This is so inspiring. Brit was always one of my favorite journalist/newscaster but to know about his loss and suffering, and then his renewed belief in Christ is so uplifting to hear in this day and age. I takes great courage. So sad about his son.
I had no idea. Ive always enjoyed listening to Brits take on basically anything - always felt he was the real deal. I cant even imagine losing my son and my heart goes out to him for what had to be a heartbreaking loss.
Those who favor abortion also seem not to respect science. If you can believe that the difference between men and women cannot be said to determined by scientific observation, you can easily believe that an unborn child is not a human being, or at least not a legal person owed protection from the law. For such persons , truth is basically what you think it is. Humans being basically robots made out of flesh, and unless “chosen” by a mother not worthy of be legal personhood. .
But, unfortunately, he was wrong about the whole attitude of the public changing. The abortion advocates have chosen to ignore the facts, and continue to couch it as a matter of a woman's choice.
@@marlenedeal7124 Interesting that youtube censors my factual reply to you. I'll try again. In 1973, when the SCOTUS heard Roe vs. Wade, the chances of a baby living if delivered at 20 weeks gestation was 0%. That's right..zero. Now it is in excess of 50%. Maybe you should enlighten yourself. Maybe try to keep up to date Should it be a woman's choice when the baby is 1 day old?
I lost my daughter this week. It was also a suicide. All I can think through the tears is that I failed. I did not save her. I am her mom. I had one job, and that was to take care of her, and I did a poor job. She was 49 years old. She had a very hard life. She was ill. She just gave up. I understand what Brit is talking about. This is a dark and devastating place to be. I have Jesus and he is helping me. But this is territory no parent should have to walk through.
You didn't fail her. I struggle with depression and have wandered these dark places. You just don't think right in the pit. I promise you. You didn't fail her. I'm very sorry for your loss, ma'am. Cling to Jesus.
I watched this because I have watched Brti Hume forever. I had no idea he lost his son. I lost my daughter at 24. It destroyed my life with grief as it did with him. I haven't yet developed a similar religious connection but many others have been helped by God and Christ after living through similar similar crises.
Praying for you. Sadly, you will always feel the loss. I’m so sorry. May God bless you until your heart can once again feels joy even if just for a moment. I hope you feel His arms wrap around you! He is near! ❤. My twin sister lost three of her four children. The first time she felt joy after her second loss was at Christmas. Prayers for you! ❤️
What a difference a Britt Hume type of journalism professional all over every news outlet would make- he’s always been one I could listen to and believe- his calm and methodical fact based dialogue was always spot on with the reality of life we observed daily.
My two sons and one granddaughter rarely visit as out of town. My cousin's children grandchildren visit all holidays etc. I was jealous. Then a lady on UA-cam was talking about her first Christmas without her son. That just hit me on the head. They are healthy and living good lives. I cannot ask for more. But there is more they are kind good people. I have always enjoyed Brit Hume's presentations. Bless all of you. Thank you God for my many blessings. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.😊
Without a doubt, my favorite commentator is, and always has been, Brit Hume. He set the standard in every perspective as a journalist and a human being.
What he said is true. I always knew God but it wasnt till my husband suddenly died that I truly knew him & felt his presence. I was in a very dark place that I wanted to die too. Jesus carried me through the pain & breathed life back into me.🦋
A man, like King David, a man after God’s own heart. He has always been my favourite journalist. Like Charles Krauthammer, you always felt that Brit was telling you the truth and his commentary meant something. God bless you and keep you. ✝️❤️
I didn't think I was going to like this piece when I first clicked on it but I decided to listen through it because I was curious what happened to his son. I got kind of teary-eyed and was just so very thankful that I still have my four daughters who are all grown. I don't know how I would make it through one of them where to have that happen to them. My heart goes out to him and any other parent that has had to live through that I just hope and pray that I go before any of my daughters do.
Brit, I have watched you through this video and many of your news shows, but when the story of your son's suicide came up, I had to share a little of my own story. In July of 1962, my two little boys died in the trunk of my car while playing with two little boys from across the street. They were two and four years old, and I was expecting a third child who took her own life when she was 23 years old. Her autopsy showed she was legally drunk and legally stoned. I believed in Jesus and went to church as a teenager, but Jesus was still in the manger when she died. That's when God came after me. I will always believe this and tell it every chance I get. Making my losses even worse, my youngest and only living child was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I turned 87 years of age a few days ago, and I feel all of this all over again when I learn of another's loss of a child, but know this, if I have been able to survive with all of this for this long, anyone can.
I lost my daughter to suicide in 2017, so I can empathize with him. I didn’t know he lost his son, as I was involved in raising my daughter who was born in 1996 and didn’t pay much attention to the news then. The grief never ends.
I just want you to know that there was nothing you could have done differently. They did a study at the University of Pittsburgh and showed that people who are suicidal or have tried to take their own life have a part of their brain that lights up differnt on imaging. Also I have severe depression, anxity and PTSD. It cripples me alot., yet I have no desire to end my life.
The world and the media needs more decency. Bret is a man who has walked the walk and chosen the better path. Bless him and his work. The media could do so much good for the world if EGOS and Greed were put aside.
He is SECOND to NONE. There is something special about him, even before I found this video. May God continue to bless you and your Wife! Louisiana Lady
I Love Brit Hume, he is the last of the old time journalists. I am talking about the real ones, the type that reported the news & didn't change the news to for his politics. I love it when he comes in on Fox. He is just a good man.
The organization called,” While We Are Waiting “ is a faith based group for bereaved parents. I am a believer of their approach. I lost my son in 2023. WWW has been a bright spot in a dark journey. I am sorry for Brit’s loss.
Grief needs to be talked about more. Felt as if a piece of your body is missing night time is very heavy on the chest. Takes a long time for that pain to lift enough that you feel it won’t kill you. An yet we learn to carry what’s always there. Having that much support would be so helpful. In average ppl. I feel Most are abandoned when they are grieving. No1 wants to be around that. As if they are afraid it will happen to them. They can only say, I can’t imagine. Yes they can so they walk away. For some they can’t imagine because it’s to painful our brains won’t go there. Hugs to all. Celebs and just regular ppl who know the grief of losing a child 😢
@7:00 I think that it was meant to be, "Driving while impaired" not "Drinking while impaired." Nonetheless, so tragic and sad that he felt that such a thing could not be overcome.
I remember when Sandy Hume died. I was just heartbroken for Mr. Hume. How awful. Now I have sons nearly Sandy's age at the time of his death. RIP Sandy Hume.
Brit, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m so glad your faith helped you. My Grandmother’s maiden name was Britt. I wanted to name my son that, remembering how cool your name sounded. My husband and I decided on a different combined family name, but I still love the name. God bless you and your family.
Britt has always come across to me as a man of integrity. Now I know why. My faith too has been my rock through times of heartache & trials. My son also had an addiction to alcohol and has been sober now for over 7 yrs. My pastor had told me to never stop praying for my children.
Admire and respect your commentary! My sincere condolences on the loss of your son! I’m so glad that you were able to find your way of the darkness that overcame you when u experienced that loss! May God bless you n your family!
I really like Brit. He's probably the only one that is unbiased when he reports. I also lost a 6 year old son due to a car accident. It's not something a parent is supposed to do. My faith is also what got me through that.
Brit.Hume has always been a favorite of mine even before hearing of his faith and his life story. He is a man of integrity and greatly respected by audiences as well as colleagues.

Brit, it is more important we openly proclaim our personal relationship with God through Christ than ever before. Like me, I can tell you picked up much of your journalistic style from the late Paul Harvey -- a fellow believer. I know that is often a difficult position in most secular newsrooms. Thank you FV for telling Brit's story.
Brit is a man to be honored, he is the kind of professional that we no longer see.. His faith is his backbone, he is honest and straightforward. God bless you, Brit. Thank you for your service. Enjoy your retirement.
I lost my oldest son to suicide by accident (bit of a story) and so I can empathize here. Never knew anything about this man but now have respect. He is now probably my 2nd fav after Tucker.
Interesting how his faith got him through the death of his son. Faith is what Christians use to get through tough times. Other, non-Christians, turn to drugs and alcohol.
Thank you Brit. I always know when you spoke it was going to be the right thing. I didn’t know until tonight that you lost your son. I lost my daughter at 40 from a massive heart attack and I believe you are right Jesus becomes stronger in your life.
Brit is my favorite. I’m always glad when he appears on Fox. He’s a great analyst. I can empathize with him. We lost our oldest son in a car accident, he was 38. It breaks your heart. Only my faith in Jesus made me survive.
The stage of the pregnancy is not as important as the fact that the embryo is a human being. This human being should be protected and not aborted unless it is a last resort effort to save the mother's life.
Wow his krazy opinion about abortion is one I NEVER heard before and hopefully I will never hear it again. I'm convinced we will be arguing about abortion for at least another 20 years. We are ALL on the Titanic and our politicians are very busy arguing about how to arrange the deck chairs to try and keep us afloat. Sad.
Wait a minute…they said Britt was married out of college and had a child on the way. That was about 1968. Then later said married in 1993 and that she lost her child [the suicide] They ran past all of these time lines.
Brit Hume is my favorite! He is one of the last American Breed! He is truthful and a man you can trust! He reminds me of the way Walter Cronkite told the American People truth.
I likeed from day one, still do, one of the most decent man of our times, one of the few honest reporters We can trust.Period. We ned a few hundred like HIM.

In July of 1962, my two little boys died in the trunk of my car while playing with two little boys from across the street. Interesting how his faith got him through the death of his son. Faith is what Christians use to get through tough times. Other, non-Christians, turn to drugs and alcohol.
He is the Walter Cronkite of our time.
This was very interesting. I never knew anything personal about Brit. He seems like a good man!
No one is perfect🙏🏻❤️😴

I love Britt Hume! He still tells it like it is! I love Brett Baer, Shannon Breem! I like this site that I have just started seeing!😊
Have always had the utmost respect for Brit Hume. He is at really good journalist and man.
I am very familiar with Brit throughout the many years. Love The Five, Waters World, and Fox and Friends with coffee at 6 am 👍
My deepest sympathy. 😭
Wow his krazy opinion about abortion is one I NEVER heard before
and hopefully I will never hear it again.
I'm convinced we will be arguing about abortion for at least another 20 years.
We are ALL on the Titanic and our politicians are very busy arguing
about how to arrange the deck chairs to try and keep us afloat. Sad.
Are you able to talk without attacks and mudslinging?
Bret had the Perfect Journalist. Voice Ever!!
Brit Hume is the best ❤️🙏👋
7:01 he was charged with "drinking while impaired"?. I don't understand
I've always loved Brit. He was the only logical reporter I had watched. ANDFAIR

Always liked his work and after watching this segment I respect and like him ever more.
Wait a minute…they said Britt was married out of college and had a child on the way. That was about 1968. Then later said married in 1993 and that she lost her child [the suicide] They ran past all of these time lines.
Sander wasn’t in prison. He spent the night in jail.
Pain, the searing pain of the loss of a loved one, may oddly add with a treasured memory. By grace, a treasure forever.

Brit Hume is my favorite! He is one of the last American Breed! He is truthful and a man you can trust! He reminds me of the way Walter Cronkite told the American People truth.
