  • I bought a 67 Camaro RS for only $6,500 and I'm taking it to LS Fest East. There isn't a lot of time to get ready so we're swapping in an LS2 from J&J Auto Wrecking bit.ly/GoJnJOH
The LS2 is getting the complete Holley EFI treatment and some BRAND NEW HK Wheels as well. I love the way the wheels and tires came out, can't wait for the body work to match the drivetrain!

    Nitto 555G2 Tires: amzn.to/32mf0yr
Now I've got 2 weeks to have this ready for LS Fest East, let's make it happen. www.lsfest.com...

Eh? Ten years ago numbers matching meant something. Restomods are selling for more $$. I've bought a few classics over the years with a trunk load of OG parts. I like to keep some cars stock only because everyone molests them. Normal is mainstream lol

get yourself a unit of RVS....
it will make the transmission shift like brand new
It's truly magic in a bottle.
Builds up friction surfaces to factory spec while you drive.
My 1993 Honda vtr250 had a SERIOUS rod knock and slipping clutch.
60 bucks of RVS and the knock was gone, compression restored and clutch grabbed great for 10 years before it finally died.
Got about 40k miles on a virtually dead machine.

Love the old 2 stroke Detroit Diesel engines. When I first started working on generators I used to work on a lot of them. There are les and les of them everyday. Totally stoked your dad saved that one. Looked like. 6-71 series. Or is it a 53 series.

    • @bicyclerep
      @bicyclerep 4 роки тому

Based on age it could easily be a 53. If the model number is on the placard first digit 5 is 53 series and 1 would be 71. 7 is also see for 71, but only in the V config. That’s either an in-line 6 or 4....hard to tell with all the gen bits added.

Scott Williford it’s a 6-71. Very easy to tell the difference between 53s and 71s because 53s have small valve cover bolts on the outside and 71s and up have bigger bolts in the center of the valve covers. Also to my knowledge they never made a 6-53 only 6V53 and 4-53, 3-53, and 2-53.

I'm actually glad to use that transmission but not because of the numbers but because of the sheer beauty of that transmission a lot of racers actually use that transmission or they used to there are a lot of parts that you can acquire for those like different valve bodies and better clutches larger front pumps and of course the ubiquitous stall speed but who knows how hard they are to come by right now at this time so hats off to you guys for what you're doing hopefully it'll work just fine. Stay safe stay well and as always God bless

they are easy to find stock but very expensive to prep to stand up to large horsepower numbers

Thank you so much for the reply I would imagine they are pretty expensive to find the exact right parts to build one for some high horsepower these days there are so many other transmissions now that can be used hardly anyone uses them. I remember when I did a Chevy swap to a 67 International Scout we used a 2-speed Powerglide and I loved it it was a really good transmission never had a problem with it. But then again we're talking quite a few years ago. Stay safe stay well and as always God bless

@@leonarddaneman810 Yes, he probably used a transformer, which was my point. To your second point, to "power" something, you have to think in terms of power. Voltage doesn't mean anything without current, but it's probably pretty powerful.

22 year phone guy here. Just thought I would share those Diesel engines come from the central offices. When outside power goes out the Diesel engines kick on to provide power for services. Depending on the size of the city you can have rooms full of them. That’s the smallest one I’ve seen. Where I work the Diesel engines are housed in tractor trailer containers outside the central office. Cool, seeing yours dad keep one alive.

I have that exact generator that came out of an AT&T switching building in Memphis TN, got it free just to remove it.
