Thank you for your feedback regarding this camera. I was considering buying on black Friday but I will be holding off or looking for a more reliable product.
I just upgraded from the Nexpro to the Nexar One. It did come with the OBD connection but I haven't connected to the lighter for now. The Nexpro, I had it connected to the OBD also. Still figuring it out.
recently bought one without reading the reviews first.. thinking about returning it also bought it for the connectivity which doesn’t work. also have the “low” battery consistently
Got mine on launch after months and months of delays, camera never worked, the video it would record would cut out and there was no way to retrieve it, and I could never get it to record when I started the car and parking mode never worked. I returned it and bought a thinkware Dashcam and that records 24/7 without having to interact with it at all and Ik if something happens on the road or while parked it will work 100% of the time. No remote viewing but for a $200 camera It’s been more then worth it plus I got the multiplexer add on so I have a external rear and external side views. I have a Nexar scosche in my other car and same experience, doesn’t start recording right away and I have to fight with the app and just hope it connects plus same thing it cuts randomly in recordings so I can’t rely on it and will probably replace that with a thinkware as well
I personally use this camera daily as I have driven all over the country from the last year. I have some complaints. However, they fixed them. Recently, I had a few internal parts fail, and they sent me a new one on the 10th. Got it in three days (Saturday), working on getting getting it connected with the company. I love the camera
My camera nexar one suddenly it started to power on and off it's been more than a week ago i contact customer service and to be honest they are not helping at all i spoke with 4 different people and none of them could fix the problem. i got tired off just waiting so i told them i just wanted to buy another camera but obviously with a discount because the camera basically was damage. they told me that there's nothing they can do to fix the issue so i told them to cancel the nexar connect subscription that was 4 hours ago, and they still haven't canceled it yet. and like this video was saying the live stream only work 20% of the time definitely this camera has a lot of issues
I bought this camera 20 days ago my problem with it. It takes a huge amount of data to upload to the cloud and download to my phone is like 50 GB every day to download stuff from the camera.
The app they use to export videos from the camera (the one I have) doesn’t even work. Their support team is very responsive, but it’s been nothing but headache with the product
Thx you for making this video. I been looking for a good dash cam & looking at their prices they should be top of the line! But clearly it isn’t. So I’ll keep looking thx again.
I’m having these exact issues. I’m connected via OBD cable which is supposed to keep it fully charged. Never keeps a charge. I’m literally 15 feet away from my bedroom and car (bedroom above garage). I have full wifi, full 5G (when I turn wifi off), and great cell coverage). I cannot connect remotely. I’ve had countless customer support messaging and nothing has solved nor helped. Seeing this video just validates that Nexar One does not function how they advertised. I’m planning on posting a video as well. Camera randomly turns off when I’m driving. Camera randomly turns off when parked and engine is running. It’s just not the user experience I was being told by their product placement advertisements.
Does your Subaru have constant power at the lighter socket when the ignition is off? Nexar is suppose to be selling a wiring kit to allow constant power to the camera. Returned my 2 Owl Cams for 2 Nexar Ones and I am very disappointed. My experience does not se to be the same as their UA-cam videos
Not it doesn't have constant power. That's why I like my owl cam and the obd connection better. That stays in standby mode for days. I mean I guess it doesn't really matter if nexar gets constant power or not because it won't connect even when it has full battery. Lol
Thanks for the update. Purchased (2021) and it's been in the box and looks like it will still be in the box. Maybe one day this will be fixed. What do you recommend for a Cam? For a new driver.
I watched your video and decided to pass on buying. I have another one that turns off and on here and there. The customer service was really difficult and after many texts they said it was out of warranty and offered 10 or 20% off a product. Thank you for the testing
What would you recommend, Iam trying to get a dash cam. But I want to buy a great quality one that is going to work. I want to be able to see live feed from my phone. Thanks .
I would recommend the owl cam if being able to live steam it is most important. It has a higher monthly cost then the ring but it stays in gaurd mode longer. The ring turns off very quickly ones its parked for more then a few hours and can't be accessed anymore remotely.
I'm not sure since I couldn't get my phone to connect to mine I stopped using it. It's just sitting in a bag in my trunk. Maybe someone else who is currently using it will offer some insight.
Dear Sir. I have a nexar cam and I got a new phone and transferred everything and cam was working, quit working and will not connect. The "lets find your cam" is frozen on my phone, emailed Nexar and get the same answer over and over, a list of stuff to try and its not working. FED UP
Do you know if you can view the interior cabin on LTE? I thought I saw a different video and this works, but I contacted their development team, and they said it’s still in the works. Thank you!
@@WillieWalnuts ummm. Oh boy. I watched your reviews. Right after I placed my order. (Ugh) Ha. They said there’s a 30 day return policy so I guess I can at least try it and return if it doesn’t work well. Right now I have the Garmin cam live, but really would like a front and cabin camera live-streamed. I’m surprised they have not sent you a new unit because yours is not working properly. Thanks again and good luck!
@@Briggs78 I haven't even complained. I've given up. The ring camera is cheap so it has that going for it. Also you can live stream the inside and outside. The only downside is the ring doesn't stay in gaurd mode for long so you might only get like 6 hours before it turns off then you can't access it till u start your car again .
That's a lot easier you can buy any camera that's has wifi and be able to remote connect to it through ur houses wifi network. Tp link makes a good pan and tilt wifi camera for cheap.
Yes I got it and thought it would be great. Someone tried to crash into me head on last night and what a pain in the ass to try and pull a clip. The 20 seconds I wanted wouldnt even download. I'm going to make a video about it. Thank god I still had the nexar installed so I pulled the clip from that camera. It amazes me that a huge company can't get it right. It's like they didn't even do any research b4 making the camera to see what features and type of UI people wanted.
@@WillieWalnuts my thoughts precisely. It's not great as a dlash camera for driving and unfortunately doesn't stay on all night making it not great for security either. My Pros for the ring: 1. Ring has a great app and very user friendly especially for those that already other Ring products. 2. The Ring "Go Plan" for LTE is only 60$ a month. 3. Packaging ease of installation etc was great. Cons: 1. VIDEO QUALITY: Not able to read a license plate right in front of the car due to video quality. 2. POWER It would be great if they incorporated a battery and used the obd2 port to keep it fully charged while the vehicle is on. I had the camera turn off at night due to the "vehicle's battery low" even at a medium battery plan. 3. SIZE The thing is huge and I wouldn't have had a complaint if it had batteries or other extras that explained the size of it. I do think that if they fix those issues the camera would be great but is not worth the money right now.
@@J__7777 nexar works sometimes lol. My phone's been unable to reconnect to it for the past couple weeks. Honestly the owl cam has been the most reliable.

@@WillieWalnuts Forgive me, "the ring" - assuming another type of Dash Cam? If so, what model? Carl
@la_canuck it's the company Ring that's owned by Amazon that does the home security and doorbell cameras. It's their dashcam.
@@WillieWalnuts oh geez. I feel like an idiot. We have a ring on our door. I just didn’t realize they make the car ones. Sorry lol
@la_canuck it works pretty well. The standby mode leaves a little to want for though, but it runs thru the same app as your ring doorbell camera.
Wheres the first video
Question: You state that you would not buy the Nexar. What dash cam would you buy, if any?
I'm currently using the ring dash came. It's cheaper monthly although the connectivity doesn't work well either at least it's not as expensive.
I had allot of issues also. I had to ask for a refund and they said they would. I also needed to get a new unit because it wasn't working.
I just pre-ordered the ring dash cam. Hopefully that is better. I will do a review when I get it.
