IDK, The council meeting shooting has been way more impactful RP because of the consequences. The day of prison RP (except the alarm spam), the jail break, the man hunt... If CG just got an hour in jail then got out to blow up MRPD or do a hell week it would just have been a repeat of 3.0. But I get the fear of being stuck in jail and the debtors prison stuff having downsides.
I don't know the full context but making money is easy and boring as a civ. As a crim it is hard but fun. he said it himself "do something crazy with gun". As much as its RP its also a game. You can farm in any MMORPG to eventually PvP and have fun but also take risks. Whether the punishment is fair or not that is not up to me but that is why there are lifers who is trying to make it into the WL. so its not like there is no RP in jail. and you can create other characters as well. streamers are considered in every angle imo.

this is basically to nerf gangs like hydra and cg who shoot cops all day back in nopixel 3.0, admins want people to finally fear the pd and rp like how it is where pd numbers are infinite and not choose to shoot everytime something goes bad or wrong. Now at least people think twice about shooting cops due to huge fines and times spent in jail if they get caught. If the repercussions were like 80months and 10k fine back in the days for shooting cops everyone will honestly do it
This is GRAND THEFT AUTO RP. A video game where ppl do GRAND THEFTS, OFTEN IN CARS, AND DO IT OFTEN. Sitting in jail for days, weeks for every time you are caught for a video game that is about stealing is goofy. But I think the issue here is beyond the fines and jail times, but about how the server has killed RP. There are restrictions to the point that it isn't about server health but admin controlling player's arcs and creativity, for gangs, even for civs, and clowns, etc.
Why not RP in prison? Wasnt that the whole point of dogtown to bring RP to prison? Like lifers literally cannonly RP in prison. I dont think prison is like a soft ban, its that people consider it a soft ban. 3.0 prison and 4.0 prison seem extremely different vibes.
You can fully rp in prison, but if your in there for 72 hours, it would get very boring after sometime because there isn't much to do. You either talk to lifers there, which is probably a range from 0 - 2, or just grind the rep in prison. With like kebun who always does 9 hours streams, you can't expect him to play 9 hours being locked up for example 3 days because you will run out of things to do in the first 2 hours.
The penalties are the type one would get on a hardcore serious rp server. So I agree it makes no sense.

i mean like… it’s almost like it makes sense… you can’t do illegal things all day and expect to not have to RP out the consequences…

So far 4.0 is worse prison buc they if they dont like what you do they sound the alarm the entire time
"why can't I harass people all day without consequences" is a crazy take but this is 2024 on the internet I guess
