I love these videos Dale! Thanks so much! Love the history lessons too! Not many straight shooters who tell it how it is like you do anymore. Can’t wait to see the next videos!
Hi Dale. Been enjoying your videos and the information provided in them. Question on the fish stake. How high above water do you like the bait positioned ?
i will be making some pocket stakes and using this set up . we can't have exposed bait here except in a cage trap . great tips . that would be a bunch of gear per stop .
Thank you. If you give that set a try it'll work for you. Yes it's a lot of equipment per stop. But with the fur market where it is and the fuel costs it pays to take out 10 at a time versus 2 at a time. Hut them hard and fast and on to the next 1
I appreciate someone calling the trapper from Tennessee (Clint) out on his idea theft. He has pretty much built a business off of things he sold as his own idea. I know he claims to have came up with a lot of stuff he picked up from Matt Jones also.
It's truly that simple, and too few take advantage of it, because it's "not complicated enough". There's plenty to learn that doesn't involve hours at a desk. Keep these videos rolling, Billingsley.
Good stuff ! Dad always said that the more traps you got set , the more stuff you will catch ! If I was in Iowa I would carpet bomb those bridges too ! Not everybody from Tn is that way ; ) but I can see that !
How do you keep people from stealing your traps? Also I was wondering if you could do a video of preparing skin for sale and who to sell to and where you shoot them so you don't mess up fur
You cant keep.people from stealing The Funny Farm. If they want them they'll get them. Yes I intend to do some skinning videos and fleshing and stretching as well. As for dispatching the animal. Just use a 22 to the head. A small hole is not the end of the world. Thanks for watching these videos I appreciate it pal
Everything is wrote down in a notebook. Landmarks that I can understand what type of traps. How many. What side of the road they are on. I write down everything
I had made a different way of the fish stake , I would set a stick in the water with the fish being about the same height you got . also the distance from the shore as you .but I would stake the traps on their own stake on the deep side of the set and yes I set 2 traps at the set like you do . the water is not too deep ,about 6 to 8 " . The reason to stake the traps on the deep side so they drowned faster.
@@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531 Yes I know there is different ways of doing this , just give out another idea of doing it for who like to try it , Thank you for show how you do it .
I'm just asking because I don't know, but will a bobcat step in the water to get caught in a set like that? I guess I always thought all cats hate getting their feet wet. Great set, great information, can't wait for the next one
They hit the trap and move away from the stake and other trap just long enough for the second that's traveling with them to hit the other trap. Thank you for watching
Looking forward for others ideas you have for the trap line , I always looking for different ways of trapping . If yours will make it easy or a change up of how I do it . will help also . I know we all have our own way of doing things. But add others ideas will help because of not all animals will act the same way like the smart ones that have learn from the past when they deal with set and get away . Thank you
Dale, you are my kind of talker, no bs. Not to many of us out there. Dont change what ur doing man. Honesty is king!
Thank you Richard. I appreciate your support

Hi Dale. Been enjoying your videos and the information provided in them. Question on the fish stake. How high above water do you like the bait positioned ?
Thank you for watching Cory. I like the bait as close to the surface as I can get it. 3-4 inches above is just right.

Never said who it was 😉. Thanks for watching Tim
The guy that stole that portable pocket is also a “ snake oil” salesman. He’s now disappeared for the most part. Outstanding video👍
Thank you Scotland
I have NEVER had a raccoon that pulled out of a #11 long spring.

You’ve given me food for thought on gang setting!
Glad i could help Bill

Where is the bait lure . You have a nice rebar stake???
Sundy I explained in the video that the bait and lure went on top of the stake. Thank you for watching
How do you keep people from stealing your traps? Also I was wondering if you could do a video of preparing skin for sale and who to sell to and where you shoot them so you don't mess up fur

Theres 100 different ways to make this set. If yours is working, then keep pouring it to them till it dont no more. Then do something different
