South Africa is not a country for a specific people. South Africa is not a tribal country. In fact South Africa is a region, that is, South of Africa, named by white people. If you are a Zulu then you are from Kzn, you are not from Limpopo or North West and you are not the same people as the people of these provinces. What would make you as a Zulu or as a Sutho be the same people as Pedi or Tswana people and be diferent to Shona, Ndebele, Shangaan or Kalanga?? All these people are different to one another. Each one of them is a specific tribe, it is a unique, none is the same as the other. These borders where put by the colonialists to conquer you , devide to better and easily conquer and then rule. None of the tribes created these borders. And why are you so obssessed with the colonial past to the point of discriminating and humiliating other blacks????????? If this is the logic then bring back the apartheid system. Your issue is that SA is more developed than other African countries and this being the reason why people come here, so what? Did you develop SA??? It was developed by white people, and white people are not xenophobic toward others. They may be racists but not xenophobic. Some say that SA can not carry the whole Africa. That is nonsense. The African continent has 1.2 billion people. The population of SA is 65 million including foreigners. Are the remaining 1.13 billion African people living in SA? They are in their own countries. They could come to SA if their wanted to. All they need is a passport. Some African countries need visa but many do not need visa to come to SA. And why is all Africa not in SA?. This is a monsense hatred, self-hate because you are lazy and incompetent and then you get jealous. The bottom line is every country in the world has a foreign population. You go to Mozambique, Angola, Congo, Malawi, Nigeria, Namibia, Ghana, Ivory coast, Kenya, etc you will see plenty foreigners there and there is no issues. Why should it be a problem in SA??? Why??? There are many blacks who are even born outside of South Africa whom we consider South African since they assimilated with us and adopted one of our cultures. The problem with her is that she just stayed in our location and never assimilated and does not know any of our languages which is considered a rejection of South African cultures. That is why it is hard for South Africans to accept her. This is also why you never hear South Africans claim Elon Musk but will claim Charlize Theron because one rejects us but the other embraces us. It is like this whether you are black or white. Mxolisi Kaunda was the mayor of Durban and he got that because he embraced our culture even though he clearly has a Zambian heritage.
If you are going to identify as a Nigerian in South Africa and never adopt one of the cultures you are going to have a big problem and that is why black foreigners are having a problem in South Africa, they fail to assimilate and that is seen as arrogant and people will reject you because of your perceived rejection of them.
Please, I suggest you take this advice into consideration when raising your children among us as South Africans. Even when a fellow South African moves into an area that is largely dominated by another tribe if he thinks he will not assimilate into the tribe he just moved into, he will have big problems, South Africans don't discriminate in that regard.

    • @Thetalkcentralbyphindy
      @Thetalkcentralbyphindy  3 місяці тому

I like your explanation and understand your point of view, however I don’t think we know if she can speak our languages or not because she is always speaking English, unless I missing something here because I can’t watch the tv show, I’m saying this because I’ve been accused of being a non South African due to the way I always speak English and that is because I reside in the west that’s the language out here. But people who’ve never heard me speak out language will assume I can’t. Maybe she can speak our languages as well

    • @kwaziphungula
      @kwaziphungula 3 місяці тому +4

@@Thetalkcentralbyphindy I think you are right about the language part. I think her parents could have made things easier for her if they had given her South African names. But I do understand them giving her those names in order for her to know her heritage and identity, unfortunately it might be a problem if she wants to be a representation of black South Africa. However, for me it doesn't matter as long as she has citizenship I consider her South African, but unfortunately the assimilation thing is very strong in this country, they immediately pick you up if you haven't done it because the mannerisms will tell on you.
My own mother had to assimilate because she married into the Zulu culture while she is Xhosa. At this point no Zulu can ever guess she is Xhosa because she completely assimilated.
One of my car mechanics is from Burundi, I could pick up that Zulu might not be his first language but I couldn't tell that he was not South African until he told me himself. Him and his wife are leaving comfortably among Zulus and all the time I was with him he was speaking in Zulu to his son who has a Zulu name. I tell you that his children who are all born here will never have problems like Chidimma has had from South Africans.

Hey sis I hear you and I understand the problems “SOME” Nigerians are contributing to, but the reality is that we can’t blame every Nigerian for the crimes committed by a few. I also think most South Africans don’t how immigration works, you can become a South African permanent resident by applying through different streams that the South African government has, examples: through business investments, life partner, work, refugee and volunteer. So to say that both parents aren’t South African that doesn’t matter if they got their citizenship through these streams

Chichi off cause she was born in SA through and Nigerian and Mozambican whom has no roots in SA but through neutralisation. SA has 11 languages with their own heritage and are recognised in the constitution, now thats where the law that will all submit to comes to place, which I think u should blame not South Africans, we don’t have Nigerian nor Mozambican heritage under our laws.
She praises her Nigerian and Mozambican heritage but enjoys the South African side as she was nurtured with and go see in some of her socials posting Nigerian and Mozambican flags but there was no South African flag. Before I say anything, I just want to applaud you ma'am for your courage, support and understanding to speak on this issue. It is extremely refreshing hearing a South African take this approach.
Most people in this comment section are quite myopic in their thinking, inflictive with self-hate and are misinformed. And unfortunately, they are misinforming fickle minded South Africans who are contagious with this level of hate. And I understand, because it's clear that Mzansi is still struggling to find their identity as a nation, particularly within Africa.
    1. People saying that she lied about being from Soweto or CPT... you do know that migration is a thing right? She could have resided and be born in Soweto and move at a later stage with her family to CPT. You do know that right? So saying she's lying about coming from Soweto is quite stupid.
    2. Her Mother has Mozambiquan decents but was naturalized and has obtained her South African ID after years of following protocol. Therefore, with her mom being South African, and her being born here... SHE IS SOUTHAFRICAN.
    3. By South African laws, to obtain ID or permanent residence status, you must have at least one of your parents being ID holders or you must be married to a South African. Additionally, you must be on a work visa for at least 5 years before applying for permanent residence.
    4. People subtly pushing the narrative that the Father may be an illegal drug dealer (without any evidence to that) because he's from Nigeria is quite disgusting of you guys and I'm not surprised. Most South Africans have developed these discriminative and hateful stereotypes over the years and is symbolic of who you guys are and your inferiority complex towards Nigerians.
    5. As a case in point, Trevah Noah is South African right? But his father is from Switzerland and his mom South African. There's a chineese South African who was eliminated out of the top 20 right? So why is there no uproar against her being that her identity and names are foreign to "South African names"?? She's is literally CHINEESE. You people go all around claiming Elon Musk, Doja Cat, Charlie Stheron and etc. People who don't even recognize you guys as a nation, pitiful. Even Dricus Du Plessis who South Africans claim, but yet has family and an ancestry in France 🇫🇷
    6. When it comes to issues of immigration, you guys complain that y'all are not xenophobic and you are only concerned about illegal foreign nationals right? Lol Now, you have a lady who is not illegal, is South African and here you are complaining about her history of legality. 😂 You can never win with you people. So are you saying you guys know more or better than the South African Pageantry as a whole or better than their law officials who do background checks on all contestants?
    7. Lol South Africa is not a rainbow nation, and I think even you guys are starting to accept and come to terms with the inner hate and anger you show towards your fellow Africans but not Europeans. Let's all just call a spade a spade. Some South Africans are hateful, quite narrow in their thinking and don't want to do the bare minimum of learning, growing and developing.
    8. Last but not least, most of you in this comment section should do your best in researching, educating yourselves and travelling a lot more so that you can be exposed to modern day thinking and development.
    9. Nkulunkulu (God) can be so funny sometimes 😂 he knows how divisive and discriminative South Africans are towards Africans and decided to place someone of mixed ethnicities in such a highly recognizable position? Kuzolunga! South Africans, you will be okay in the end, whether she wins or not so don't worry. If anything, I'm glad this has forced y'all to have a new discussion on this issue but in a different light.
Thank you once more mamzo for your discourse on this matter.
    Kind regards.
    A Proud African Man

Her social media platforms affirms that she identifies as both Mozambican and Nigerian both by descent and ethnicity and as such is not really fond of the country she was born in.
Not to be narrow at all my brother but her culture is what is foreign to most South Africans and the fact that she doesnt even try to embrace the south African flags just adds salt to the already deep wounds that Nigerian illegal migrants have inflicted on the south african population by their mammoth participation in drug trade, human trafficking and sex trafficking.

Firstly I'm glad you highlighted that it is not ANTI-BLACKNESS OR XENOPHOBIA since Black Americans are welcomed warmly in SA.
The Truth is: You say it's hard leaving your country kodwa Nigerians find it so easy since they do so much😭 but I think it's the same reason Nigerians' passport is one the weakest and the Black Americans' passport is one of the strongest is what influences the difference in reception. People who don't need to leave their countries(Americans) have a better image then and seen less of a national threat than people who desperately left their and will do anything to survive in another country(Nigerians) It's unfortunate but makes sense. Look at people from Botswana, leave out the cultural relatability but BW is a reasonably prosperous nation and are not known to cause no trouble as immigrants when they are
Gauteng culture of a melting pot is transported across the broader South Africa through Education,Media,Television,Radio etc South Africans know who they are, they understand that we have 11 official languages, that we have Black(Zulu,Xhosa,Tswana,Sotho,Ndebele,Venda,Pedi,Swati,Tsonga),White, Indian & Coloured South Africans, we literally learn this as kids in school

Wow, your assumptions are wow! Believe me, when Black Americans and any Americans or Europeans or Asians etc. live their place of birth for any African country, including South Africa, it's because they need to. They are running from stress and being overworked only for all their money to go to the high cost of living 😢😢😢. Those who came have managed to squeeze some money by working triple shifts or take out loans and are running to African countries because they think our costs of living is so......cheap. they live with these delusions and many of them end up running back to their homes and face the very hard life they have there. Why? Because they learn no where is a bed of roses and it is better to stay where you are familiar with. Anyways, this love is purely out of fantasies about who they think have the most $$$$$$$$$$. The truth will come out in shocking ways. Africans, hold your heads up through these storms for they all shall pass. We can get there quicker if we do away with self hate. Outsiders come close to you for the betterment of themselves and not for you. Don't be delusional. Love begins at home. Charity begins at home.

here is the Chidimma issue: first the parents met in Britain before 2010 and in 2010 in South Africa. If she was born out of wedlock then clearly she does not qualify, If she was born from marriage, then she will be 14 years at the most. Secondly, any person born from a foreign national in Mzansi does qualify as a citizen. Department of Home Affairs will issue a registration of birth which must be taken to the relevant Embassy for that child to be registered as a citizen of that country (Nigeria). Thirdly, the father came to South Africa on a visitor's VISA and did not and does not qualify as a naturalized citizen . Conclusion is therefore that Chidimma is a foreign national who is a resident of Mzansi and not a citizen of this country. Disqualify her.

We don’t do hustling, sex trafficking, drugs. Scams, etc. unfortunately Nigerians have a really bad reputation for doing what i previously stated. We don’t live or hangout in all black American enclaves or neighborhoods in South Africa, we live with the people, Nigerians don’t do that, you have all Nigerian Enclaves in Joburg and that pisses people off, you have to understand why South African have a problem with Nigerians.

    2. If a person is not married and having a child, it's different, the child belongs to her mother's side. That is african culture in South Africa. If the father wants the child, there is a process that is followed.
    3. If the father's family does not acknowledge the child even if the parents are married, the mother's family takes care of the child and claim her/his as theirs.
    4. With these instances, there is no half these, a child belongs to a certain family, depending on the circumstances.

I think, if someone tells you to go back where you come from, you shouldn't be worried by that, as long as you know that you are legal in that country, because the only department which knows that it is the Home Office who knows that you are legal in the country, but definitely not that person. Therefore, they just need to chill. The other thing i want to mention, is that, you mentioned something about, saying that, most of the Nigerian people who are in South Africa right now, are reluctant to interfere with Chi-Chi's and her parents issue, of which i think they are not reluctant at all. The only reason why they don't want to get involved, it is because, most of them, they are just like Chi-Chi's family, because they also are aware that they haven't got any correct documents or proper procedureral documents to be in South Africa, as it happens always with the Nigerians. As a results they are scared to death, wandering if what is going to happen to them if they happen to be found in nearly similar cases, as most of the Nigerians, do not have proper documents to stay in South Africa. Most of them get those documents through corruption, while they are happy to pay a lot of money just for them to stay in S.A. Therefore for them to stay silenc it is their only option, as they think it is the only best way for them to hide for the South African government or community. They are going to be found one of the days, if they don't put their citizenship qualifications documents in order, for them not to be sent where they come from.

The hate won't help us no matter who it is coming from.
Our starting point needs to be on the rule of law. I personally believe it no1 reason we are where we are. Come on, Africa, let us upgrade the problems we entertain. We can't move forward if we continue to live like this.
Administration of individual countries is still hard for our leaders. So by the time that administration has to be for Africa as a single country it can be much harder. Let us start, but controlling understanding. Amoungst us as communities then we can take on to more complex issues like living in harmony as different people with one Vision.
