    Welcome to Part 4 of this Thunder Tiger Tomahawk MX restoration. In this part I will assemble the engine back and attempt to start it up. As usual there is always something wrong when completing a Project like this with old parts and without spending any money on anything at all. That's the goal here, keeping it as original as possible and just making sure it works. And no matter what, this think will be starting. Lets Do this!!

    Great video brother!!! I knew it would run!!! I feel so much more comfortable now I think I’m going to pick up a used one and try my hand at it. That’s about the only kind of engine I haven’t rebuilt is a little tiny nitro engine like that. I can’t wait to see what was causing the vacuum leak. Awesome watch brother!!!

    Great video thanks. You should not be hatting on the arrma 1/5 but I know you are a petrol head only but the new arrma is awesome in my opinion. The electronics on the new arrma is truly unique.

    Yeah the Xmaxx is awesome it’s a true monster truck. Just a bigger stampede and emaxx on a grander scale. The Kraton is basically a blown up E Revo but it looks amazing. I like the new Kraton 8S as much as the Xmaxx. I’ve never owned an Arrma but I’ve thought of owning one.

      what up homie!!! I got to drive an X-maxx yesterday, it wasn't mine, But I got some Nice driving shots. It drives great, just like a huge T-maxx I'd say. It was 8S too. The only Arrmas I like are the cheaper 3S trucks they sell, those are a good value. Otherwise I don't like anything about 3S.

    hey dude, do a nitro conversion on that arrma, make your own nitro arrma haha!

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  5 років тому

      hey bro!! Good idea, I actually though about that. The only current road block will be the fact that Electric cars would require a brake servo and the transmission's gear pitch is totally different, I would have to get creative with making a nitro Clutch bell work on this. This is why most people convert nitros into electric, it's easy. Creative idea though, I'm sure people have done it, I'll research it.

    • @Sloppyjoe96
      @Sloppyjoe96 5 років тому +1

      hybrid32494 could you maybe like “retrofit” a nitros transmission like a revo trans or something, but i guess then you would need custom driveshafts.. seems like alot of work haha

    Another good video man ! Question so you don’t necessarily have to torque down any screws to spec ?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  5 років тому

      whats up man!! Honestly, I have never checked proper torque specs for anything on any RC. And it's fine. As long as it's tight enough to where it's not going to strip or be too loose, it's fine. My goal is to be neat, do an adequate job and constantly check the risky areas like engine screws and pull start screws, then monitor them after each run.

      I know right! They would make a pretty nice one and I'm sure it would sell. Yers ago they were associated with Team-Durango which make race winning nitros, so it's not a far stretch for them to try again.

  • @TK_Mo
    @TK_Mo 4 роки тому

    I agree on the X-Maxx over the 1/5th scale Arrma Kraton 8s. I prefer Arrma over Traxxas personally but to me, the 8s Kraton leaves a lot to be desired as it is out of the box.
    Im curios though, why do you like to use after run oil as an assembly lube? I'm not suggesting that you use engine assembly lube on a nitro, just like you don't use it on engine piston assembly however, don't you think 3 and one or even bearing lube would be better for assembly? After run oil just doesn't have the dry start lubricating properties I'd want to see, especially at top dead center.
    Also, on these nitro engines, compression really is not the correct word. They don't create compression as much as they have resistance at the top of the piston stroke. The piston sleeve is tapered at the top it doesn't compress the fuel mixture like a 2 or 4 stroke as the piston only seals at the very top of the piston stroke. The resistance is not compression, it is friction. It's like a good fart. It's not about the back pressure, it is about how tight the sphincter is. ☺

    Hi just want to know. Do you know the base settings or around the base setting of a go. 21 carb?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 роки тому

      hey buddy! Sorry, I don't. Your best bet is to google it. Generally you can go about 3.5 turns out on the High Speed and Keep the Low speed flush with the carb body, that is usually the stock settings on most carbs. The goal is to start the motor, then you can see if it's extremely lean or rich, and adjust from there. Honestly, knowing the stock settings is not important, knowing how to adjust after the first start is highly important.

      @hybrid32494  4 роки тому +1

      hey buddy! Are you referring to the little bottle of oil I'm using? That is basic hobby grade After-run oil, most people use it for engine storage when you don't run for a while to prevent corrosion. It's just called "after-run" oil, you could get it on amazon for like 6-7 bucks.
