Everyone has a Rolex .... Mass produced rubbish from Geneva .... When you buy a watch you buy the movement, and not the gold jewellery that's wrapped around it .... That's why Rolex never show off their movements, unlike Patek, Audemars or Vacheron .... That's why I bought Royal Oaks for both my wife and I .... You want to see what you paid for inside and not just the gold jewellery on the outside ....

Curiously enough when I put it on my wrist (a colleague bought it) it had the opposite effect: I was completely underwhelmed - especially by the rose gold

I don't know how are we humans going to further develop our civilization with people so detached from reality like this one. And we are not talking about anybody, but about a person belonging to the 1% richest of the people on the planet. If people like this one with so much financial might, which translates into influence and power are so out of touch and unable to grasp the reality, we are in a big trouble.
If you talk about high end watch collectors who got watches worth several millions, which he refers to, than yes 😉
Calm down mate. In history there has always been rich people who continues to buy stuff and spend money on luxury this isn’t anything new. Just because our reality is different from his doesn’t make him wrong, nor does it make him unable to contribute to society. Just calm the fuck down lol.

He did go to the watch pretty fast. Don't know why so many start with the nondescript outer sleeve and take minutes to show the same booklets and tag, for no other reason then cheap filler. If it's supposed to be a 'tease', then it's a big fail.

Gold watches are something else, yes they are more "delicate" but the feel of importance on the wrist that they give the wearer is unbeatable compared to steel, I highly recomend one in your collection if you are allowed one, otherwise Platinum is always a safe choice!
PS I also like very much the same Day-Date you fancied, it was available at my AD 1,5 years ago, however at that time I was not ready to pull the trigger.

Great piece, however I dont think its suited for women. Compared to the steel version the diameter of the gold Daytona is bigger and the Oysterflex is also too manly

I will be super careful wearing this in London right now. Too many crimes are happening where thieves targeting people with expensive watches by hanging out in expensive restaurants and bars seeing what the customers are wearing. A friend of a friend who lives in Chelsea recently got robbed in Chelsea just for his DJ he ended up in the hospital all cut up as he fought back (dumb move in my opinion). Stay safe!

But this Daytona will probably remain a rare sight on a female wrist.
This Daytona, maybe. But the ladies have invaded the Daytona space in much the same way as they grabbed the Dr. Martin's boot for themselves. Honestly, I now view the Daytona as a unisex watch. My go-to watch is the Sea-Dweller 43mm ...my pronouns are He/Him, 💪🤣!
