as someone who has seen a show on both brodway and west end and coming from an american americans tend to be louder when it comes to shows where as english people tend to be more respectful but rowdeyer at curtain calls and final shows final shows in england tend to run an hour or 2 longer then usual cause both the crew and the crowed want to make it a special night as more often then not (at both brodway and west end) the croud is people who have seen that run of a show before and enjoyed it
I saw a bootleg of the original West End Cast and the crowd was insane. It was like a rock concert. Even more enthusiastic than the Off Broadway audience.
