Our lovable "freak of nature"!! He is SO much better now, believe it or not! This was done in like 2015. He's cleaned and tightened all of his basic drum sounds, deepened his bass, and added a bunch of other instruments to his repertoire. 🤯❤
He also works with a looper onstage now so he builds the song as he goes, adding all of the percussion and harmonization. It's ridiculously good.
This alien (lol) also plays a few real instruments and has a beautiful high tenor voice! The sound created when he isn't beatboxing, but singing harmony, creates such a full, rich 5-part harmony that it'll knock your socks off!
Tim (the bass) has said more than once that Adam probably has the widest range of anyone in the group - and that's coming from a guy who has a 5-octave range! 😳
Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. His breath control must be crazy. I heard he makes the sounds both while inhaling & exhaling. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match.
He actually plays drums, so the physical movements he's making during this are what a drummer would actually be doing.
Bearing in mind that this was 9 years ago, you may wish to see a drum solo from their current tour. In the ensuing years, Adam has honed his craft to an unbelievable level and each tour his drum solos are different and always captivating. Cheers!!
I love watching people react to this video and it's crazy to think that he's even better now because he just continues to hone his craft. I also love how embarrassed he looks by the audiences reaction when he finished the first part and they wouldn't stop applauding even after the second bow. Tim once said in a interview that Adam is the magic behind HF and I think he's right. They all have such beautiful voices that blend together wonderfully and could be stars on their own but without Adam's beatboxing the group just wouldn't be the same. I just wish they could convince him to take the lead more when he isn't beatboxing because he has a naturally beautiful voice.
I'm glad you mentioned that this is live, recorded on a phone. The acoustics and all other deficiencies of being live in an open and unpredictable venue makes it difficult to achieve the perfect sound of which he's capable, and make this effort all the more impressive. I have heard them live three times and have heard three different Adam solos. It's incredible - he just gets better and better.
As others have mentioned he uses a looper during live performances now. I heard someone say that he was once asked how long it took him to learn how to beatbox. His answer was, "I'm still learning."
Hard to imagine but that is what makes him the best! What I know for sure is that we Home Fries love him!

Adam is the glue of the group. He's so incredible . He does it so great. It's not only the mouth sounds but also the moves that he does.

You just have to because he is so unbelievably good(and handsome too😊😍)!! Like he swallowed a drum kit. And then vocally he can also make so many more (instrument) sounds which is not normal
I've been to two live Home Free concerts and he's even more amazing now. And when he drops that bass, it hits you in the chest.
This past Christmas tour for his drum solo he basically pulled a one-man Trans-Siberian Orchestra with a loop station for the opening segment of his solo. I highly recommend you check out a drum solo from December 2022 to hear it.

This was the original. There are newer ones from 2021-2022 where he lays his on-stage vocal tracks on top of one another for richer, fuller sounds. I know their's one where the fans get so loud he has to do one part over again. You also might want to check out their 9 to 5 + beatboxing breakdown videos (one with Chris and a later one with Chance) where all five of them show their beatboxing skills. (Note: there's also a 9 to 5 video without the afterwards.)

And it isn't just Adam's fantastic ability to mimic, but his use of those talents. He never grandstands in a song - enough but not too much seems to be his mantra.
If you want to be even more mind blown, you should see some of the recent sounds people have been able to make. Just check out people like D-Low and Show-go. Trust you will not be disappointed!!! I highly highly HIGHLY recommend "Hiss, Alexinho, Colaps, River' - If only (Official Video)"

I get mesmerized watching his hands and watching his throat and shoulder muscles. Curiously, for an acapella band, they all can play instruments. Adam Rupp plays drums, trumpet and has such an amazing vocal range!

Adam is a freak of nature. He’s amazing. Yeah no wonder Home Free doesn’t need instruments when you have Adam. I love this one. There are newer ones but he uses a looper (which saves his voice of course) but I love this one with him and just the microphone. Good reaction!

New to the channel. Subbed. My husband got two tickets to see Home Free back in Dec of 2019. Adam did a drum solo that night. Truly amazing. I had so much fun that night. Home Free is the best.

Adam is Home Free's secret weapon. He's been honing his skills for over 20 years and is self taught. This video shows his raw talent and skill, but he has only become more impressive and skilled since then. I recently got to see them live and Adam's solo set was beyond belief. Literally jaw dropping. Creative, electrifying, exciting and entertaining. Someone asked him how long it took him to learn to beat box and he answered "I'm still learning." He's so good at what he does, people often forget it's him doing the percussion and not actual instruments. We Home Fries love our Adam! Thanks for a great reaction. Glad you enjoyed it.

What championships has he won? I've been watching Grand Beatbox battles lately and Rupp seems middle at best. No offence to his skills, but masters there are insane. People like D-low, Colaps, Sho-go
@@ilesalmo7724 This is an old video. He's even better now, but what Adam does greater than anyone is blending his art with the fantastic harmonies of the other members of this awesome group! Plus he can do instruments perfectly that you will never hear in beat box battles. For example his harmonica (or rather no-monica) is insane, his electric guitar skills too.
