3. the lack of appreciation for any gift, good bad, or other, let me know that she has not matured to a point where she could appreciate the act of giving. as a husband who has not always been the greatest gift giver, my wife is still appreciative of what I give; even if she ends up returning it lol. I'm with the family, he should have returned the gift. She's ungrateful. He got her multiple presents for that day. I would break up with her as well. No one made her look like a child, she CHOSE to react that way. It's 100% on her.

2. I would agree with them having empathy for trying to know your partner. If you know she has a short fuse, this whole situation wouldn't have happened... not the tantrum, mostly just the impatient personality and gift giving love language.

To me, I think they understood her pain of not getting the gift that you wanted, which is understandable. It is okay to not get something that you want. It's a human response to most, and we have to learn to humble ourselves from time to time. But the angry reaction and causing a tantrum is where you should draw the line because it's very immature.
