Every time i see one of your videos i expect comments packed full and views in the thousands- but you're so underrated :[ Will be sharing with my friends
Hehe I'm glad I could help, I'll add that although I haven't seen a video by Moukala on this topic, knowing his approach, our intentions are very different (reviewing/analyzing pieces singularly vs teaching generalized easily applicable principles)
@@nicknuwe Nah, I'm not trying to be protective of the dude. His stuff is over the top and hyped, but very much focused on flourishes and which VST's he picks. This has a much closer 90s feel. Golden fundamentals will always beat expensive VSTs and an organized desktop. Maybe target your videos more on the niche. Usually the best creatives stand in the background and do their thing. We've come to sad times where having a meme-like thumbnail and generalized AI search terms like "Composer does epic Final Fantasy inspired Masterpiece" gets you more recognition than the actual quality of the music theory. Just keep making more of these! xD
Just wanted to say I agree on Moukala. Props to the guy from being a talented professional, but it's clear he subscribes to a different school of music production, I couldn't quite stand his interpretation of FF8's landing to which I've written a comment explaining why which he didn't reply to, probably because I was one of thousands. If I had to sum it up here, is "I don't like bombastic rearrangements at the expense of making out notation." Instruments should not be unintelligible noise, every layer should be adequately mixed to work in conjunction with each other like a well casted motion picture, not just focus on the most prominent melody/actor you want people to hum and then the rest of the cast just plays catchup with lower gains. That said, yeah. This video did instruct me more on Uematsuisms and it deserves a lot more recognition. I documented lot of Uematsuisms myself (inside my head), but I'm not big into music terminology so I couldn't explain it clearly.
Thank you! I used Kontakt for a lot of it (Session horns, Session Strings 2) but I also used Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra and Ample Bass 2 which are free and extremely good if used well. But unless you're specifically going for big productions, go ahead and use something simple like game soundfonts. I wrote this track with a FFIX soundfont and was gonna release it like that, but using ripped sounds is slightly illegal apparently lol
This is so cool! The composition is that much cooler when I can see/hear the stems and your reasoning for the musical choices you’ve made. Which DAW are you using in this video?
Dude, you're freaking great! Do you play any of it in live or mostly draw it? Would be interested learning more about your(or his) approach to harmony. Great job
Heh thanks, I write all of the notes in rather than playing 99% of the time, but if I need extra realistic strings I just play my violin and record it. The next step after this video is to just listen to a lot of Uematsu's stuff while keeping track of how and where the things I mentioned are applied, and then just trying to work those things yourself in an original track
@@nicknuwe That's going to be a challenging adventure but you've inspired me to embark upon it! Mostly step wise motion, modal interplay, lots of parts! And catchy as hell of course! Cheers buddy
Can we talk about that 13/8 time signature tho

Aw I really really appreciate it, thank you so much man :)
Man, this is some next level stuff! :D I really love it! :D
If I could produce beats like this Oh man
Well done! This got my blood pumping for a boss fight.
Hehe thanks! I still dream of seeing a boss battle with my music in it. Still waiting for that day to come
Super underviewed video. This is gold.
El video que el 90% de la gente nesesita
The video that 90% of people need
Dude, outstanding! You need way more views!!!
Thank you Cam!!
I think Yoko Shimomura has a similar style
And I mean it literally offers better insight than Moukala in one short vid.

@@zummone 90s compositions had that disctinct Korg synth sound. In 2020s... It's all blockbustery and VSTish... x)
Amazing video! Also im wondering what libraries did you use?

How long did this take out of interest?
@@username40000 The FL Studio project file says around 27 hours :)
What is that music programme called, pray tell?
FL Studio!
