For anyone who read that above comment about the gifts being for the edification of the body and not for us to go and speak in tongues in our rooms, we are individuals that are a part of the body! The Lord is just as concerned about edifying us through His Holy Spirit as He is the entirety of the body. That's like saying, oh, you're only a finger and you're tired and struggling? You don't matter, only the digestive tract matters, only the bulk of the human matters but the individual parts? Oh you can just let them flounder and drown because if you benefit that means you're selfish! That's ridiculous, Paul himself said 1 Corinthians 14:2 [2] For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. Also, 1 Corinthians 14:4 NIV [4] Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. [14] For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. [15] So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. [18] I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. While context and knowing what was happening at the time of this letter is important it is also important that we are able to recognize truths about God and his ways through being able to extrapolate that even though Paul is speaking to a congregation that had a ton of people just going off speaking in tongues everywhere, he had a point to make about order in the church but he clearly states in scripture that there are tongues meant for the edification of the indivodual believer, Jesus didn't die for the mythical picture perfect bride of Christ, that's what we will be yes in eternity, perfect, He died for us individuals who make her up and when we are edified by the Holy Spirit and the tools which He gave us to commune with Him, we are then able to go and edify more individuals in the body by overcoming the power of the enemy by the declaring of our testiments to how God loves and cares for us. 💕 God bless each and every one of you.
I can't believe some of the things people say these days, that's our business in Jesus, why do they point it out in such a way to hurt other Christians, pretty amazing really.
I thought speaking in tongues was speaking in another "real" language, not just blathering sounds. In Acts, it was people talking to foreigners who spoke another language and they were able to understand it. Am i wrong?
Re: “tongues are the last on the list” ua-cam.com/video/0D6pd9D9H7I/v-deo.html Being last on the list is not a reliable formula for finding importance level: 1 Cor 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
So thankful for these recordings
Thats a good ending, operate out of love at all times. Sometimes thats hard. Peace, brothers and sisters.

GOD BLESSED ALL😇😇😇
Remember. Every gift from above is for edification of the body of christ.
Not to go into your room and start praying in unknown tongues

Why do some believe the gifts have stopped
