      Not sure if you noticed that this isn't an O ring that can be removed with a hook or pick. If you have never changed a main seal, don't give advice on something you know nothing about.
      Im not a mechanic but I did replace the main pulley seal on the timing cover and this would have saved me a lot of trouble. Not sure if they are all similar but the seal had a metal band in it and was made with a very stiff rubber or compound.

      @Icybones000 7 місяців тому

      @AD-1138 Don't assume because the guy says something, and another contradicts what he says as the person making the video is the one who is the professional. Not all mechanics are created equal. I remove seals, o-ring all the time, and I'm sure much more often than you or the guy making this video and have not damaged any components. So hush little sheep because you have no clue what you are talking about. I've worked with ppl who have been mechanics 20 years, and you would think every day is their first day. Take what advise you will and throw the rest out as garbage.

      You could have a bad pcv valve or clogged crank case breather. Building crank case pressure is a likely cause for repeated rear main failures. Or it could be as simple as it wasn't done very well the first time.
