4:35 Lots of people thinks it’s a racket, but they have to know that a tunnel is not a normal road. An accident can be such critical because of the visibility, the environment… That is why there are 6 speed cameras on each side (so 12 speed cameras in total), to make sure no-one is going to let the pedal going. For the speed limit, 70 km/h, it is the speed of the Parisian and many others peripherals. So, for a tunnel like that, I think it’s okay. I know it’s slow, but compared to the time to do the same distance via Paris, it’s 4+ times longer. Anyway, great video and thank you for sharing your experience.
Did this tunnel by accident, in our VW transporter measuring 2.02mts high. (Poptop). Never been so scared in all my life. A proper brown trouser moment. Although we now know we fit through it, I still wont be doing it again.
8.20 euro? Let's see how that compares to other selected tunnels and bridges using the car rates only. Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line Japan (bridges and tunnels) at 23.7 kilometers: Normal sized cars: 3000 JPY (23.29 EUR), ETC discount: 2320 JPY (18.01 EUR) George Washington Bridge at New York-New Jersey state border, US at 1,450 meters): USD 16.00 (13.80 EUR) Great Belt Bridge in Denmark at 18 kilometers: 245 DKK (32.94 EUR) Øresund Bridge from Denmark to Sweden at 12 kilometers (including the 4 kilometers tunnel): 390 DKK (52.43 EUR)
The Dupex toll fee depends on the day and the hour. For example, it is more than €14 if you use it on weekdays rush hours, as it helps you to bypass lots of traffic jam on parallel highway. But it is €2 during the night because it is nearly useless. You will also pay half the amount if you join at the half of the tunnel (via the A13) or if you exit at the half, but in this case it is only if you have the telepeage badge (the orange “t”)
Great video! Thanks for sharing, it is definitely one of the most unique and interesting tunnels in the world. Seems to be rather claustrophobic to drive through though. My other thought is that being so low trucks can't use it, which makes it pretty useless for freight transport.
Yes! You can also see this similar tunnel A2 Tunnel Maastricht - 2 tubes and double deck tunnels, also trucks are allowed. But the A86 Duplex Tunnel aren’t allowed for trucks, bikes and GPL cars. They can bypass via N118 or A12/N12.
That’s because it is a duplex with one road under the other. On the opposite way, the shoulder is on the right, the exit and the enter is also on the right while in this video it is on the left. In fact, each side is a mirror of the other

Сегодня тут проехался ! Из за низкого потолка, ощущения очень необычные ) Если кто-то боится замкнутых пространств - капец )))
It's one of the longest tunnels in Europe, Right?
Nope
Left shoulder? Has the tunnel been designed by the Queen or something? 😂
