I've enjoyed both episodes immensely. It's good to see a Todd interview wherein the interviewer actually knows something about Todd's music. Great job!
i picked up a cappella at a used cd store back in 1988. i wasnt sure what i was getting accept it was todd and i love todd. first couple listens i was disappointed. and then my head exploded and i feel in love with it. as an educator it's always one of the first albums i play for students as background music while they worked independently. i still love it today! hodjia is my favorite. thanks todd
Apparently Ardent Records engineers Terry Manning and John Fry had a system of surreptitiously recording string sections onto 1 of 8 tracks- one for each note- to simulate a Mellotron or Chamberlin before they had one.
Acappella is a masterpiece, and i hate him for not truly finishing "Up Against It" which he started demoing in 1985-6 (And released only in some far away country in 1997)
To be fair, he *kind* of finished "Up Against It". The official release was definitely a bit more spruced up than the demos that had been circulating previously.
His masterpiece. And that's saying something considering the rest of his discography
"all the other kids are laughing at me" line .....assured that this songs will live forever.
Fabulous album!! 👍🎶🎶
Todd Rundgren is a genius and a one off.
Agree. We'll never have another like him

Such a great album!
On top of everything else, the lyrics to "Pretending to Care" are just devastating!
Agreed, David.
A Cappella was absolutely brilliant
100%
❤ amazing
A wonderful album, and a HELLUVA tour - saw it 3 times!
Thanks for posting this!
Wow, lucky you!

Great stuff Gregg. Can't wait for Ep 3! A Capella is pure genius but then again, so are most Todd records.
Agreed, JD.
Loved this! Looking forward to Part 3!
Thanks, Sean!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 wonderful conversation
That lil island place near the end of chain looks fabulous from the sky.
A Capella Hawaiian Frogs sounded great too!!!
LOL yep!
The last acapella album I can remember was The Bob's. Great version of Helter Skelter!

Motion sickness and Sufism don’t mix. 😂
I don't get it
@@MakeWeirdMusic Hodja reference. Whirling Dervishes never puke for some reason. The playground merry go round could make me hurl! 😂
