Thanks Eric! The set up was pretty simple. 2oz Carolina rig with 8/0 circle hook and a live bluegill about 15 feet down slow trolling by water discharge. We had 5 solid strikes but no hook ups. It’s about timing there I think.
you just fishing structure you find or you have spots you know produce flatties? Ive never caught a flathead and its a bucket list fish of mine. just no luck in NWI..
Come on out to southwest Michigan. I’ll put you on some flatheads. To answer your question it’s all about logjams. You have to get your bait right in there. Accept the fact that you’ll snag up sometimes and lose baits but that’s where they are. Just drop right in there. The deeper the water and the bigger the logjam the better
Im very familiar with the phrase "If you aint losin'em, you aint usin'em." lol Right on man.. ive been wanting to fish for cats in michigan since Ive ran all over NWI with zero flatheads caught, Ive been following MCATS and which rivers they have their tournament out of. the St Joe and kalamazoo look to be my best bets. a 30# flathead would be epic. tightlines and heavy scales man.
Lovin the cat videos!! Keep on hookin and postin! Great job sir!!
Love your videos. Great to someone local. Love to see your striper set up on racoon. Keep up the great work.
