you guys are saviors! I've been wracking my brain to remember what song I kept humming for a good while! On a sidenote, I have to submit that any act of translation ruins the source material! Might as well take a year or two to learn the langauge than get a second-hand experience of a work

Still haven't seen the translation because, well, principles I got tangled in school business so what I'm working on these days are Deutsch and Türkçe When I do get to have the time for it, I'll focus exclusively on Japanese. From experience I can tell you that 1) you gotta reach a certain level of competency in one language to then go for another one; otherwise you will likely have a weak foundation and, as it happens for many people, forget a lot of what you've learned and waste time 2) You gotta establish a cultural connection with the language, meaning you must get to know many things about whatever that surrounds the language; otherwise you won't really be able to use the language, which to me is the ultimate purpose of learning one
