The trick is to land shield-first, which absorbs nearly all of the impact, and roll with the rest. :D

@LifeIsForEmos8D It is, Cap took part in many secret operations during the war, both HYDRA and Nazi (the movie focused on HYDRA though of course).
Apparently in Captain America 2 there will be a signifigant flashback portion to WWII (another mission), although the main story will be in modern day.
