People saying this song is underrated are just not old enough to remember when it came out. It was literally number 1 in UK charts for over a month! I remember it repeatedly playing on Mtv the year of its release, you'd hear it in popular stores and on the radio. I almost got sick of this song... it has been far from underrated!
Well...at 72, I think I'm definitely old enough...never heard it before. Of course outside of Europe (yes Virginia, ... there are other countries besides U.S.A. and Britain) I barely even made any top 100 lists.

Mika is so underrated today. He has a great and unique voice. This song was played a lot on the radio back in 2007 when I was 12-13 years old and I still love the song to this day. I really hope that Mika will make a comeback on the charts. He deserve much more succes. :)

He's NOT a Freddie imitator at all and doesn't try to be. He's got his own distinctive sound and yes, he's the only singer today who could even come close to doing justice to a Queen song. His spirit comes across as very Freddie-esque, a good heart. Adam Lambert can't hold a candle to Mika!

Mika was *fantastic* as a host of Eurovision. Probably the best one there's ever been. There's something to be said for a fluent English speaker who can improv without being cringe, and still perform live.

I agree to a point. Mika's timbre is a bit more rich and loud than Freddie Mercury's, but there are parts where the style is very similar. 1:47 - 2:10 sounds very similar to Freddie Mercury and Queen's overall style.

It's weird to think there's an entire generation that never heard this song on the radio, but just discovered it through TikTok and Ryan Reynolds' video. Back in 2006/2007, this song was HUGE and in every station's heavy rotation. Mika had a bunch of major hits in the following years, but "Relax" and "Grace Kelly" are probably his most remembered productions!
I think that may have been centered on radio stations aimed at white audiences. I am 27 and have only heard it today.

I really love this song. It kinda describes a part of being a teenager. We're all so concerned about who likes us and who doesn't. We change ourselves to fit other peoples liking. We're all a bit fake. We act how we think people will like us best and if people don't like it we change and we're constantly changing to fit in. We just want everyone to like us. That probably made no sense but I just love this song.
