Supernote is amazing. The more I use the more I like it. Its the perfect digital notebook for anyone who likes to write or draw. The company's customer service is unmatched. I had a suggestion for them that was implemented before i even got the device.
Totally! Second guessed it at first, and then things just started flowing. It's true, their customer service team is super nice. Nice OP-1 video, btw. Would be rad if they both collabed and made an e ink one!
This is not a review of companies' customer service, this is a review of which companies responded positively to a youtube account owner begging them for freebies.
I would say that one company taking weeks to reply with a couple sentences and another replying in a couple days with paragraphs of helpful info is a meaningful difference. Remarkable is known for their lack of responsiveness and focus on subscription income over new features. Just search "remarkable customer service reddit" and you'll see. Like I said, I thought the drawing on Remarkable was great, as well, but the portability of the Nomad was more useful to me. In terms of "freebies," do you think my time is free, ha? I make videos for a living and spending days producing a review in exchange for a useful product is no different than going to an office, earning money, and then buying that product.
Seems like you’re slating remarkable because they wouldn’t give you a freebie 😂 Supernote is cool, but I’d want both colour and a back light in a similar size.
It's not a freebie, it's exchange of a product for the time and energy it takes to produce video reviews. No different than someone working X amount of hours and then buying a product themselves. That said, I also went with Supernote, because the Nomad was more portable and similar to the journals I use, and because I don't like that Remarkable puts certain features behind a subscription paywall. Makes you not trust them longterm, ya know? Because what might else might they choose to restrict and charge for? Many people have noted Remarkable's poor customer service on UA-cam and Reddit, etc. In terms of color, the current e ink tech is pretty terrible. You either have the more vibrant but extremely flashy/slow "Gallery" that Remarkable Pro uses, or the faster but dull and inaccurate "Kaleido" of the Boox tablets. As for a backlight, why would you want that? The whole point of e ink is to get away from backlighting. For that, you'd be better off with a regular iPad, etc.
Oh really? Yea, I've been having a load of fun with Supernote. That'd be amazing if there was an e ink laptop. The closest e ink option would be a Boox Tab Ultra with the folio keyboard. bit.ly/3MV9iLq Most regular laptops have a B&W mode under the Accessibility settings.
I do 95% of my work (filmmaking, writing, browsing, etc) on a Boox Mira Pro e ink monitor ua-cam.com/video/J-7SDe5nYVo/v-deo.html, and then spend only about 5-10 minutes color grading on my old MacBook using a screen mirroring app.
After watching so many videos of supernote and remarkable, none mentioned or demo any technical drawing or sketches for technical person or engineers 😢😢😢😢.
Yea, I figured the HOS would have a better weight/construction, but I preferred the modern vibe of the Lamy and the triangle grip, which is now my fav of any stylus.
Yea, it's a load of fun! The AT sole looks great-slightly thinner, but with wider lugs for better durability on roads and other firm ground terrain. Vivo's going to send me some soon, hopefully. The Tracker Leather AT is my fav out of the new ones.
@@AndrewFolts mostly everyday stuff in southern Scandinavia, so temps from 0-60F and lots of rain with occasionally snow and slush, but also not overheat in the office. I do also want them to handle some disc golf, so not be a complete slip and slide on wet grass 😅
@@TheTobyBrovst Gotcha, so if you're wearing them indoors, the Tracker would be too hot. The JJF would be ok, but it's not that water resistant compared to the others. The ESC would be overkill for casual use, it's meant more for extreme rocky conditions. You might consider the Tracker AT, and then just switching into a lightweight pair of shoes for office wear, like the Gobi bit.ly/428p0bq or Sensus ua-cam.com/video/SopnAcG8Ppw/v-deo.html. It costs more for two shoes, obviously, but they last twice as long and feel much better being used for a specific case, rather than trying to make one do everything. If you do want a do-it-all option, the Magna FGua-cam.com/video/NYIWI47hooA/v-deo.html is my go-to. It's got good water resistance with a medium tread and enough breathability to work alright inside, especially with some merino wool toe socks. ua-cam.com/video/_e6BC2vfl4w/v-deo.html
The new Remarkable Pro uses a color e ink screen, which I considered, but unfortunately, it's Gallery 3, which has better vibrancy at the cost of really annoying flashing issues and a slow refresh. I had the alternative, Kaleido, on my Boox tablet, which had a faster refresh, but looked muddy. So, overall, I think color e ink just isn't ready yet. Grayscale e ink is a lot sharper, brighter, and faster.
@@AndrewFolts now that Ive read about the color particles and the electrical charges that the Gallery 3 is using I don’t think I’ll mind the weird flash before the non used pigments are dropped - the tech is just so cool. I always hear about how awesome super note customer service is. Maybe I’ll give it a go!

I feel like Nomad would be too small for technical drawings. They're coming out with a larger size soon, which I expect would be better.
Some of my favorite fountain pens are Lamy, but on my Supernote I use the Heart of Metal pen - very premium feel.

Are you drawing in the note app, or the Altelier drawing app?
Atelier. The pressure sensitive marker/pen is my fav!
Hey thanks for this! Would you mind sharing what hat you are wearing?
Yea, it's an older version of the North Face Camp Hat amzn.to/456L1dL
Another great vid, defs checking this out. Thanks Andrew! 👏🏼
For sure, Nath. Been having a blast drawing on e ink. Cheers!
