I love this cologne because my dad wore it all the time before he passed away. It honestly just grew on me it's an amazing scent. Definitely recommend it.

I bought this and I like it, and mine last a long time, I work 8 hour shift and I can still smell it some times when I pay attention to it and I work in a pretty smelly industry, I really think this review don't do the justice for this..LOL! but then again it is based solely on a opinion and everyones opinion can vary differently.

I get about 8 hours from this and love the smell. Lasts all day and develops well on me as my skins warms up. Can’t complain and it’s cheaper then most people recommend at this level.

Yes this cologne is everywhere, but it is always going to be my favorite I think. Something about it is so unique, and I also disagree I believe the fragrance stays with you all day, and the scent seems to change as it ages and I really like the smell of the cologne after it sat for a long time. Honestly there is no better. I just bought the cologne by creed, and I think that cologne is so overrated and smells very musky. Not my style I can understand why some old man would want it but when I mean old I mean old
It's one of the most lingering scents I have smelled. It's nostalgic for something you haven't experienced. It's not that popular here so if I smell it on literally anyone I excitedly ask if they're wearing it. It's also so genuinely unisex.

It was the first fragrance I bought when I was a teenager back in 1996
This was a beast back in the day. In the late nineties one of my coworkers wore this all the time and it was really strong. I could smell it everywhere in the office. And the color of the fragrance was very yellowish. Now the liquid is clear as water. And performs just like water too
I bought it recently and it didn't smell as strong or good as it did years ago(mid 2000s). Idk if its reformulation or a fake
@@BumbleBees77 I agree, but I found there are several knock offs that do smell similar. My guess is some buy the knock offs and refill it in original bottles. I bought a bottle recently and I believe it was done this way or possibly it was expired.

Edit: as far as longevity goes the formula has definitely changed over time. The longevity used to be ridiculous you can spray it on your clothes and smell it weeks later just like Baccarat 540

My version from 3-4 years ago has great performance . 8-10 hours
Skin chemistry affects all fragrances so take everything with a pinch of salt what may last 10 hours on someone may last 2 to 3 on another and vice versa also projection, I bought a bottle recently from 2018 I think and it lasts 5 hours on my skin but profondo lasts 8+ so if you like acqua di gio and it doesn't last on you buy profondo instead
Yeah this frangrance smelled so good back in 1996 now its nothing like it use to be..this is reformulated trash with no holding power and smells so different.

Most of the people said that, I hope so, because I have bought Versace Eau Fraiche and it’s a flop, the longevity is around 2 hours, and the projection is ridiculous. And I have tested a lot of fresh fragrances, and the performance is so weak (specially the Versace fragrances). The only fresh fragrance that has a good performance is 212 men ( I don’t include Sauvage and ADGP because they are another kind of freshness)
Someone may say Dior Savage but I prefered HermesdeTerre or LanuitDelhomme

I disagree. Profumo comes off as too peppery for my taste, whereas I find orange and sea notes from Acqua di Gio come out more which I enjoy. Profumo is bolder, more rustic and you can argue more masculine but I'd rather the light, breezy, aromatic smell that makes you feel like you're on a beach.

I have tried 10 branded perfume like savage, tom ford, Versace, Paco rabanne, etc. But I got loads of compliments only for Giorgio armani perfumo, this is evergreen fregrence. Its dry down is so crazy that you will compliment yourself 👍

I love the commercial for his fragrance at the end. He is his own model.
The longevity is like 6-8 hours for me and stays as a skin scent for 15-20+ hours. Depends on your skin chemistry, I personally love this smell. Fragrances are subjective so seeking opinions is not always a good option. Just try it out if you like it buy it.

He probably simply reconsidered. He calls it a must buy from the standpoint of history. It's an important fragrance that everyman should own so that they are educated about the true original aquatic fragrance. From there they can better appreciate and judge others that have come after and the improvements made on the original.

Too keep it real that argument that Aqua Di Gio is warn by everybody and will remind your current girl or girl you trying to get with of an ex or uncle cant be used no more. All these new fragrances on the market are either clones of Sauvage or Invictus Acua. So it really dont matter because all these designer scents smell alike anyways.

I just bought this the other day simply because it's one of the best fragrances I've ever experienced. I love how fresh and aquatic it is. It reminds me of the ocean, which is where I wish I was. :-) But Jeremy is right, it doesn't last long. But while it lasts, it's wonderful.

I love this cologne. And i agree its a must buy for the collection. But i dont think it smells as good as the older og aqua did imo. And its shelf life isnt good either. But even though i dont wear it much anymore its a good collection piece. Especially for new collection starters. You need this in yours.

I absolutely love Acqua Di Gio Essenza. So dissapointed to know that it was discontinued. I didnt know until i went to buy another bottle last two month. I only used it on special nights. Every single person smelled it and they complimented me for the smell and loved it. Also It drove the ladies crazy. I found two bottle online. Was excited and bought them. I opened them. As i opened the box i suddenly got skeptical of the authenticity of the product. From the print and the smell. It smell less strong then the one i had. I realized it was second degree from the original. F********k

i have ADG essenza as well! only using it during occasions! damn didnt know they discontinued it. but i get a lot of compliments from it !
That’s why I used Essenza instead. It’s an EDP instead of an EDT, so it lasts a lot longer. Too bad they discontinued it. A good substitue will be the Bentley Silverlake. But I would still recommend paying a premium for a bottle of Essenza for those special occasions, you are guaranteed to get compliments. They now average $300/75ml. 😂 Ridiculous but worth it imo if you only use it on important occasions. It’s unique and very few ppl will have it. Exclusivity!

that one you have is eau de toilette and if you want acqua di gio with long lasting fragnance you must buy eau de parfum because it is more concentrated.
I got one of this recently, and I do think it smells very nice but I would agree the performance is pretty bad, doesn't project very well and doesn't last longer than 2hours for me. Nice smell though but the performance is not great

I have the oringinal ADG and the profumo but for me I would choose profumo everyday over the original bcs it has more performance and is more masculine. You’re gonna recive a lot of compliments for sure

I have an old bottle of ODT from the 90s and is a lot stronger and lasts much longer when I compare it to my new 2021 bottle, hence it is evident that it has been watered down. Mr. Giorgio Armani should save this fragrance (ODT and ODP) and return it to its original formula to quadruple his profits and gain a significant market share again which he lost by reducing the quality of the fragrance in the beginning of 21st century.
I bought some the other day and it had no smelt like alcohol, this was my favorite cologne but I guess I got a bad bottle

I wonder why Alberto Morillas is always given sole credit for ADG. When in fact it was co-composed by he and Jacques Cavallier. Indeed the sea note that ADG is famous for was by Cavallier. Later seen in Bvlgari Aqva & Marine.

@@CertifiedGigaChad I found that if you spray heavy (like 8 sprays or so) it will perform very good! 😄 It was projecting very well even after 4 hours and stayed on my skin for at least 10 hours! No compliments yet as I've only worn it few times but I think this has the potential to be huge compliment getter 💪

Just buy Perry Ellis 360 Red and you’re pretty much set
In the 90's and early 00's it lasted longer. Bought a 6oz bottle of this and its absolute trash blasting. Minimum 1 hour max 3.... painful. Versace Fraiche, Ambercrombie Fierce, Dolce and Gabana Light Blue ALL last longer.

Sometimes some ingridients/chemicals get banned because they are bad to your skin etc., thus companies have to reformulate with (usually weaker) ingridients... and sometimes companies simply just want to save money so they water down their fragrances... 😕

I agree with you. AdG when it first came out was a beast i remember using it in 1990s it was a compliment getter. Now the current version is mellower. becomes a skin scent in just 20 mins on me. maybe bcos of reformulation

Is it just me? The one I bought last 2017 smells very citrusy, but the one I bought last 2009,2012 and 2015 has a stronger scent.
I've seen in several videos now that the current formula is weaker than the original. Armani has Profumo now (basically the new Acqua Di Gio) but kept Acqua Di Gio for those who might consider it too strong. It's also possible that you got a fake bottle (those are especially prevalent on Amazon)
